You know, I haven't the first clue as to how to make awesome things come out of this, but I'm certain awesome things can indeed come from this and other things from teenage engineering. You've got my subscription. Hopefully I can buy something from you guys soon. <3

OK, you've got me again. I sold my OP-1 a few months ago because the Tape-Record-Method wasn't mine and I stopped loving it. Now I saw a few videos on the OP-Z (Hello, Cuckoo & Magpie) and I instantly fell in love. I ordered the OP-Z yesterday and it seems to me that this time the love will last. Keep up the good work. :)

Guys, I get it. I'm an Android guy too but don't make the mistake to think that this device is useless without an iOS device. It's standalone features are 99% of the whole thing and its THE BOMB (from what I've seen). So yes. TE please give us an Android app, but also be fair to TE as in this is not made for Apple users per se.

Teenage engineering made you a brand new device filled with tools both amazing and bizarre. If it’s anything like the OP-1, which my guess, it is in ways— you know you’d find your own unique and creative way to utilize it. It’s the craziest Swiss Army knife you’ll ever own.

Ha, I just saw you at Loop on the roof. Like I said Tobias, once I got one in my hands, I got it.

I have a great Idea @teenageengineering: make an upscaled version of OP-Z that's about a size of Yamaha's Seqtrack. I love my OP-Z but I'd really like bigger buttons and sturdier body with bigger battery. You don't even need to make any changes in the software - just make OP-Z bigger in size, it will help to play it easily and even redo buttons - make them computer-clicky. The price will stay the same and people will order new OP-Zs like crazy, including me!

This looks like a nice upgrade to the Pocket Operator line of products - a standalone tool for making short or improvisational music in a specific range of styles. It's more flexible though, capable of a wider range of sounds and more complex sequences.

Probably not very useful as part of a larger studio though. It seems designed to play alone, and has some pretty hard limits. So probably best for musicians who are starting out or want a very minimalist style. It's in an odd niche somewhere above music toys but not really up to the level of professional instruments.

So... If people view it as a Super Pocket Operator, they'll love it. But if compared to a DAW or a mod tracker or a Digitakt+Digitone or a table of synths, people will find it falls short. Depends on expectations.

Hi Teenage Engineering, out of curiousity, are you able to use bluetooth headphones with the OPZ? or only wired options

I wish there was audio out over usb! When I tried to record my ipad air via headphone out the signal was quite weak. Is this substantially better?

One step forwards, two steps back. The best part of the OP-1 for me is using it on trips and on public transport. It sits perfectly on my lap, with a very nice integrated screen showing me what is happening. The aluminum keys feel great too, like a mechanical keyboard. Now, I have to balance a secondary screen (Apple only) or rely on remembering what all the LED combos mean unless I want to get lost in menu diving, and what are these buttons? Little plastic clickers? Disks for knobs? Idk, it looks like it does a lot of cool stuff, total powerhouse and all, but the design just feels archaic compared to the OP-1. I hope it's what other people want, but it's definitely not for me.

waiting for mine currently .... just hope to have all my buttons sit in the device perfectly ... something like those 2 buttons above the "4", i think it is the arpegiator and channel button are askew in their slot ... OCD kicks in

I will never ever have IPhone in my pocket. You really should invest the resources to build an android version of your app, or a huge amount of customers will only get half of this genuinely amazing product.

Hi! Can you import your own samples? Can you import video or the equivalent in unity? Can you use the BLE to sequence iOS apps?

It looks fantastic and it is something I'd happily have alongside my OP-1 but the deal breaker is the insistence of only using iOS / MACOS devices as the screen. I can't think of a single sensible reason that it is so restricted and as I will never own an Apple device, it looks like I'll be ignoring this otherwise brilliant instrument. Seeing as this is mainly a GUI you've provided, please implement an Android compatible screen mode and I'll almost throw my money at you!

Apple vs Android in the comments. Dope looking piece of gear, and I dig how functional it is. I couldn't see myself using it for all that it's purposed for so I'm considering the OP-1 over the OP-Z...if I can find one.
