A bit about engine motoring in the PC-12!

So much great info! Thank you. As a Cessna P210 pilot who (hopefully) is about to transition to a PC-12, this is very helpful. And I can't agree with you more...From my limited time in turbines - and lots of time in high-performance pistons - the management of a piston and a turbine don't compare. I'm looking forward to spending less time staring at the Engine Information System page on the MFD in the turbine (because I spend a lot of time there now!)

Many thanks for the video. I'll try out the procedure on the PC12 sim with the XP Reality pack and see if I can't burn up the engine. ;) Actually, I have a glider (JS3-18-TJ) with a small turbine sustainer engine to bring me home at the end of the day. Not every day, but sometimes. I take great care in managing the temperature before applying full power and when powering down. Until now, however, I never thought about how much time I should give the engine to cool down in the event of a flame-out or a failed start. I'll think about it and/or give the manufacturer (M&D Flugzeugbau) a bell. Likely there's not much I can do about it except wait a wee bit before a restart because the entire procedure is computer managed and hopefully idiot proof. Anyway, thanks for raising my awareness of what's going on inside a turbine engine.

Beautiful once again.
I hear turboprop pilots often say: "here comes the secondairies", what are they referring to precisely. I think you hinted it out on the video referring to "2nd set of injectors? Elaborate briefly. Thanks

Man I wish there was a good add on to simulate this. Do the ground crews look for elevator movement during your flight control check? Would there be a possibility that the your controls move freely but the control surface doesn’t respond?

Do you know if the new NG-X's will do this itself if the engine is warm? With all that newer tech it seems reasonable to keep someone from overtemping the engine.

Great video 👍🏻☺️
A video about the avionics especially the Honeywell system would also be very interesting. Because during my flight training I just flew with Garmin but our PC-12 NG got Honeywell, so it would be awesome to get some informations about that.
Thanks again for the great content!
Beste wishes,
Aleyna ☺️
