What I do is focus practice with a set goal 2-3x day. Right now I am focus on mastering spider exercise and basic chords. So far I have 4-5 chords memorized and can play them correctly and working up my spider playing speed and accuracy from 90 bpm to goal of 300 bpm.

I'm glad I find this video since I want to start my deliberate practice on guitar. I learn playing guitar when I was in Junior Highschool. At that time, I played just because I like to sing so I just learn certain keys and until now (I am in college) that's all I get (with some lame fingerings). But now I want to take it seriously. Thanks for the motivation!
