The Eurasian steppe, stretching from Hungary in the west to Mongolia and northeastern China in the east, has been a crossroads for human populations for thousands of years. This region has seen significant migrations and mixing of populations, especially since the Early Bronze Age.Ancient DNA studies have shown that people from the Western Eurasian Steppe moved eastward, bringing their genes and cultures with them. These migrations have significantly influenced the genetic makeup of the people living in the Eastern Steppe, including Mongolia. This genetic mixing has been ongoing since prehistoric times, creating a diverse gene pool that stretches from Central Asia to Mongolia and northeastern China.

Mongolia has a great tradition of diairy industry, which produces large amounts of different products, including all sorts of cheeses, butters, yogurts, dried curds, sour cream etc. There is hardly any Mongolian who has a lactose tolerance problem.

Mongolians drink raw dairy products that come complete with the lactase enzyme thus enabling easy digestion of dairy. It is a common observation that modern individuals with lactose intolerance are able to enjoy raw dairy products for the same reason.

Very interesting subjects. I do have one complaint though. I wished you'd display specific
racial back ground in all of pictures of different people.
They seemed to be heavy on Han Chinese from their clothing and hair but not quite sure
if they could be Mongolians heavily influenced by Han rulers ???
It's very difficult to determine Mongolians from Chinese or Siberians to start with when
you just look at them.
This is the same issue I have with your otherwise good reviews on genetic drifts of (particularly) Asian nations with displays of images that are not from the groups
of topics.

During Mao leadership a genocide occured in China against mongol ancestry with forced men conscription to military service and anything that were considered obviously mongolian were destroyed and put into prison (eleminations). It was forced genetic assimilations, which is happening in Uygur currently. Not exactly what hapened in American continent but nonetheless occured.

I am a South African male of English, Scottish & Dutch origin, married to an Outer, Western Mongolian lady of the usual historical mix. Our daughter (17), born in UB is thus a mixed up, lactose intolerant kid, with some surprising genetic characteristics.
