The "Large adapter thingy" is called a surge protector. It has saved my XBox more than a few times during power outages, which makes it a pro rather than a con in my books. :)

the box on the power cord for the xbox is a surge protector so if u have a power surge it dosent fry the console

I don't prefer one console over another, but how do you figure the PS3 is "PROFFESIONAL [sic]"? And what relevance does that have to uziel's comment about update times? If anything, longer update times would be considered less professional.

Actually the bulk in the Xbox 360 slim's power cable is to help ensure and prevent power surges when you have a blackout and to make sure the Xbox shuts down functionally

Where did you get that? I owned all these I mentioned except the 360 slim model.
PS3 slim doesn't have internet explorer of course, but it has a web browser, and no, it HAS HDMI control ability using BRAVIA sync. my only resource against it, is that remove 75% of its features in an exchange of few worthless ones.

Actually, I do lol. I fix PS3's and Xbox's all the time. PS3's have a higher computing power, allowing game devs to use more sophisticated graphics, and in turn, physics engines. This also allows the PS3 to render textures faster than the Xbox, allowing the graphics card to do more in a shorter amount of time. However, the Xbox has dedicated shaders and pipelines so it can shade faster. They both have advantages and disadvantages. Trust me, I own and work on both.
