The Beatles version sounds like the beginning of a relationship, while Kurt's version sounds like the bitter end of a relationship.

The poor audio quality makes it more emotionally powerful

BEATLES VERSION: I like her so much and she likes me too.

KURT COBAIN VERSION: I like her so much but she doesn’t want me.

There needs to be a movie with a relationship that at the beginning plays the Beatles version of this song, and then after the relationship ends in tragedy plays Kurt Cobain's version

That drawing looks like Handsome Squidward

everyone says this version is loving someone who doesn't love you back, but to me it's loving someone who isn't good for you. you want to stop, you want to leave them, to be done, but you can't.

Beatles version: girl is alive
Kurt Cobain version: girl killed herself and guy can't get over it

I love the original as much as this one. The Beatles version sounds passionate, nocturnal and romantic. Kurt's version is dark, nostalgic and almost creepy, as if the girl he was singing this song to wasn't here anymore.

She gives me everything
And tenderly
The kiss my lover brings
She brings to me
And I love her
Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her
A love like ours
Will never die
As long as I
Hold you near me
Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her

Everyone's talking about the song, but can we take a look at the drawing? There was actually one day when I drew something similar, I was representing the truth of sadness, and I casually wrote something under the drawing. Here is what I wrote: "It has no hair, because it was torn off by stress, just like his eyebrows, its eyes, tired, alcoholic and swollen from crying so much, around a black abyss, his body, which does not care about everything, how careless it decided it was a form of his art due to the ignorance of his being. This is the true monster."

They should’ve done this one at the unplugged concert

I agree with the Beatles comment.. Kurt didn't do a cover just to do a cover. His rendition of this song is so somber..its hits that place inside. I swear it's like he wrote it. This film is fucking great. I've only really become a Nirvana fan over the last 10 years. He was, as most of the young ones are, ahead of his time.

I think if you want to explain depression to someone, you can just sit them down, play the original Beatles version of this song and then without a word, immediately play this version. Where most people hear a happy-go-lucky tune, he heard and saw something darker and interpreted the lyrics in a sad, wistful way. Love Kurt Cobain.

What a beautiful cover, his raspy melancholy voice definitely is the cherry on top of this beautiful song

I was born 2005, but really wish he was still alive. He seemed like a very great person no matter what they say. We miss you kurt Cobain

The reason I love this album is because it took Kurt out of the context that he's this fake identity that his Fanbase thinks he is and he's just an actual, normal person. This wasn't made by THE Kurt Cobain, the man who writes sad music about drugs and rape. The man who smashes his guitar into pieces at the end of every performance. The man who would literally fight with the cameraman if they put the camera too close to his face. THAT Kurt Cobain that we're so familiar with. In this album, he's just... a dude.

Named Kurt.

Who's goofing around with a guitar infront of a Cassete Microphone because he just feels like it. Writing happy music, but sometimes melancholy if he wants to. Everything in this album, from the lyrics, to the melody, was created solely out of boredom. Not because some big record company forced him to, but because he just felt like it.

I like that.

Can't wait to show my husband this cover when he comes home. But hey YouTube, I'm trying to get my baby to sleep so if your ads could have less screaming... that'd be great.
