Sometimes addiction comes from mental health problems. But sometimes, mental health problems come from addiction.

People who don't go through it will never understand how horrific anxiety can be.

Dude really needed help, wish we could’ve gotten him help. Glad more emphasis is being put on men’s mental health

As someone who has anxiety and handle changes very well, this shot me right in the stomach. Im moving after 14 years of staying in my house, since it's kind of old and has a lot of problems that would be more expensive to fix, and since I live with my family members they chose quite a big house. The first time they told me about moving, I probably died, which sounds like an overstatement, but it didn't feel like it. But now, since i can't do anything about it, i just have to accept it, which is incredibly painful since my anxiety just amplifies it. And it amplifies it so much. The only thing that takes my mind off of my anxiety is playing instruments and listening to music. Cheers to those who have anxiety

He was destined for greatness and he knew it, it’s sad he never got a chance to live his life fully but atleast we’ll always have his music to remember him for generations to come

From 1st hand accounts, Kurt more than likely suffered from ciliac, a condition all but unheard of during the 70s-90s. Before being diagnosed, I knew someone that was prescribed fentanyl patches for the pain he was feeling. If doctors knew more about the disease when he was suffering, Kurt would probably be with us today.

I can so easily empathize with Kurt's mental illnesses and struggles. He was so much more real than any other rockstar. I wish we would've had more people being as supportive over mental health issues then as we do now. Probably wouldn't have stopped the inevitable, but nothing ventured nothing gained.

I have real and diagnosed PTSD (an anxiety disorder based in deep lifelong trauma), I don't like to talk about it often because so many people lie about having it or treat it like a punchline to explain their holy-assed quirkiness. But the part about Kurt's walk-in closet is very reminiscent of my own anxiety in PTSD. Living in my empty house alone while I've waited 4 months for my roommates to move-in is a special kind of hell. I don't own anything so it's very loud with any noise and the empty space feels like a looming threat that no one loves me. I walk across the city for work and I'm doing everything I can to keep pushing forward. Never had addictions or anything wild like that, but I still ended up homeless from my lack of loving family and the shitty hand I was dealt almost 30 long years ago. None of you are safe from the world or yourselves, all it takes is 1 life event to push you down this rabbit hole of destitution in suffering (maybe 2-3 if you're lucky.) I've been attending therapy for over 3 years weekly now and I don't think I'd have survived without it, much less if I was famous. Bless the hearts of the faceless and anonymous, they're the only people really living.

Kurt Cobain had mental health challenges already as a child, and his parents did nothing to help him. At all. And so Kurt developed severe depression as a teenager. He writes all about it, and we can read his autobiographical texts in his personal notebooks from these difficult years. Bipolar depression is a severe personality disorder, and is caused by disfunctional neurological cognitive issues. It's a terrible disease. So sad. R. I. P. 🖤😎

The craziest part is his stomach condition was probably something simple. Maybe he was lactose intolerant or he was allergic to Gluten. It's usually something very simple but if you fast and slowly introduce one thing st a time you'll find the culprit.

At 17 i had bad anxiety that turned into physical chest pain that went on for years till it got so bad & turned to panic attacks till i decided to get medicated, felt like i couldn't breathe & suffered for years, hydroxyzine anxiety meds saved my life & cleared my mind up, within days felt relief in my chest i couldn't believe my mental health was to blame for the pain

Let us not all forget when Kurt was a small child he told one of his classmates he was gonna be famous but he would kill himself as well

His story hits home with me. I started using painkillers because I have a disorder in my TMJ. I’m also bipolar and have adhd like him and when you mix that with painkillers you are left with a person who doesn’t care about much, especially not their own life. Luckily I am taking suboxone now and have met a beautiful woman who I’ve been with for over 4 years. I used to live in my car because I’d spend all my money on pills and my family kicked me out. Wish he was able to find his way in life. The music industry lost one of the greatest.

I’ve been watching your content for a while now and I am such a die hard Nirvana fan, hell I even have Kurt as my YouTube pfp. But I would like to say thank you for making this a series, there is too many people out there that thinks addiction was his only demon but that is definitely not the case. The biggest battle he had to face besides addiction was his own mind since he was a young child. Highlighting his poor mental health and habits will help destroy the stigma around suicide, and will hopefully make people that think he was murdered understand just how troubled he was. Rest in peace Kurt, we miss you.

That’s so sad. If his childhood hadve been normal, he wouldn’t hv suffered with so many mental afflictions. It’s the extreme pain, and the sense of hopelessness and worthlessness that starts a person’s brain networks and chemicals changing, ending up with a broken, sad, tormented, depressed and anxious individual and all these things transfer to adulthood and make living a nightmare.
