I have purchased a ton of tools over the last decade for 3d printer builds, repairs, mods, and projects. Some of them have been great while others have been a pretty big let down. In this video I cover my top 5 favorites. I tried my best to avoid commonly mentioned tools in hopes some of these will be new for you.

I 100% agree with the Knipex pliers wrench. As someone that works in the trades all my pliers are Knipex. They can’t be beat.

I was gifted a set of Knippex Smooth Pliers for Christmas and they are AMAZING! Lots better than standard channel locks and less damage. The Omnifixo was the best tool purchase of 2023!

Since you mentioned knipex, i also recommend their flush cutters. Much better than the included ones from printers. The tips are sturdier, so those stay usable for longer. I use them for about everything, cutting wires, stripping wires, cutting filament, support removal, removing the nasty bits of skin sticking up at your finger nail to name a few (underrated perk imo).

I second the Wera hex/allen keys. Used a few different generic sets ovwr the years and the Wera are WAY worth the investment.

WERA screwdrivers all the way, especially the small Microdrive ones, when it goes down to TX5 or 2mm and smaller

I ordered a TS101 and a Pinecil v2 in December 2023 and sold the Pinecil almost immediately: it just looks and feels cheap. The price difference (~77 € vs. ~52 €) is not negligible for sure, but I still prefer TS101.

Just ordered a pinecil last night after realizing the fire hazard of my cheap kit soldering iron's almost invisible indicator light. Nice to see you recommend it too!

A nice upgrade to the knipex is you can print jaw protectors/ covers so you can add a layer of tpu as a mating surface to better protect parts.

Really enjoyed the video! Personally I've spent more money on tools then I would like to say lol but I always like to think they're an investment. Another great addition is an electric screwdriver, this might sound silly or a luxury but I've been using mine for a long time and it saved from a lot of time of tidious turning.

Would definitely recommend everyone to pick up the metabo hpt heatgun over the ryobi. you can digitally set the temp and its such a nice QOL tool.

I love my Pinecil soldering iron with a 65w USB C charger works like a dream. The silicon usb c cables they sell are also great.

Wera has a hex/Allen key bicycle set. It made repairs so much easier. I wish i would have bought them earlier. I will never ever use other hex keys again

some of the coloured covers on my wera set have come loose and it makes it hard to use so I removed them.
