It was against the rules to fix the marconia. The rule stated you had to waited until you go to land for the company to fix it. By fixing it, they saved lives

I knew about the call Bunker fire which a few people tried to claim caused the sinking however I did not know the wireless set broke down which holy shit if that had not been fixed potentially everybody could have died and we would have never have had an idea of how the ship sank let alone where it went down

If the operators would have survived they would have been heros, but prob the press would have said they were breaking rules because they were going against company regulations, had they have followed those rules there wouldnt even have been survivors. You know good and well the media would have at the time made them the culprit
