They are also extremely clean if their surroundings are clean. They cannot sweat when they are hot, like dogs. So in the summer, they need shade or shelter, preferably both to cool off. A shallow water source helps too. 😊

A pet pig saved the life of her owner, a woman, when she fell over on the floor. The pig squeezed herself through a small opening in the gate to get out on the street. There she laid “dead” to draw somebody’s attention. She succeeded at last and showed them her owner on the floor.

My mom had a pet pig when she was a kid. He lived on her Uncle's farm. On weekends, when my mom stayed there, he would let himself in and out the house, and he could latch and unlatch the door to the pen on the side of the barn! My mom told us he was extremely affectionate and enjoyed the same type of petting and cuddling as the dogs!

I rescued a piglet a few years ago, she learnt how to unlock the back door by watching me let her out in the mornings, had to remember to take the key out before bed otherwise she would open it to go out and have a snuffle round but unfortunately they are not smart enough to understand heating bills and close the door after them 😂

Pigs are also very clean. When they are raised with sufficient space they will relieve themselves the furthest from where they are fed.

They're as smart as dogs and easy to train. Very loyal and protective. 🥰
