The Captions Editor in YouTube Studio which makes it easier to create and edit captions for your videos. When you add in captions, you may be able to reach a wider audience, including deaf or hard-of-hearing viewers and viewers who speak another language. On average, videos that are captioned see an increase in watch time compared to videos that don’t have them.

A lot of people like me were using community captions at the request of creators who wanted their content to be captioned in English or Spanish or any foreign language available to them. The sudden removal of the community captions was met with anger from the hard of hearing community who wanted to be able to get help from users that could be able to type the words that creators were saying on their videos. Many videos upload years ago aren't able to add captions automatically and requires users to type in the wording, so we need to know if that options are still available or are being brought back into the new editor.

My animations have no spoken text and are only accompanied by great music.
What should I do so that my ranking is not worsened by the lack of translation.
Sorry for my bad english. Translated with DeepL. I am from Germany ;)
Have a great day.

Really love the caption functionality. As all our videos are in Dutch, we use it in all our videos to address a much more broader audience. Even people requesting we add the captions because they just could not understand. Many thanks for offering this!

only problem with this for me is that I have a Polish channel and you guys don't automatically add captions in other language than English, I don't have time to sit for hours and add them manually (it would be massive pain) instead I would love to see you guys finally allow for other languages to be auto picked up by the system like Polish language for example that would be truly LIT 😍 anyways thanks @YouTubeCreators

We need to have an easier and quicker way to submit just video TITLES (not subtitles) translated to other languages for those videos who actually don´t need an entire set of subtitles but might seem benefited from having translated titles into other languages in order to be found by users of other parts of the world. This might be very important for those videos which are not spoken and therefore could result naturally interesting for people speaking different languages, since the idiom is not a barrier beyond the title for the search tool.

My language (Norwegian) is not supported for the "fancy" tools, so I end up typing captions manually. This is quite tedious, and I think it could be improved a lot. Most importantly, when I listen through the video, I FIRST listen, THEN type. While Hitting Add places a new caption that is "forward" in time, so I have to manually adjust every single one of them. I want a keyboard shortcut to add a new caption block that starts at the end of the previous one, and lasts until the position I am currently at. That way I can pause to type, then Shift-Space to play more, listen, add new and type again. Please also make sure have keyboard shortcuts for everything, so that I never need to switch back and forth to the mouse while captioning. Thank you, Youtube devs!!!

I used the tool a couple of times, including my latest video, and it works well for me, especially since I usually am pasting the text from elsewhere. What I’d like to se in the editor is a way where I can loop a section of a video so that I can make sure that the text is correct (or make changes as I go) before moving to the next section and looping there while checking the block of text to make sure it’s correct. Thank you!

Well, the captions (subtitles) editor before YouTube Studio rebranding was much better than this one. In previous version you could just make one single block for the whole video, stuff it with pre-made text or type it in, and then just split it into blocks as go forward, fixing to the audio track. Very useful. In current version it's impossible to do - you have to make every time a new caption block for the speech and fix it manually on the audio track. It takes more time and reduces productivity.

Good afternoon, thanks for the video about subtitles, although I myself understood how to do this, long before the release of your video.
I translate my videos exclusively in manual mode, I have no ready-made texts. it's certainly not easy,
and your advice is very good for those channels that have been working here for a long time, but NOT for BEGINNERS channels like mine!
I explain why I think so, based on my own experience.
Translations into other languages not only do not help, but also hinder the development of the channel! I explain why: the time that I spend on translating one video (for example, one of my videos, the shorts are only about 50 seconds, and I spent more than two hours on the translation), other novice channels spend this time on shoot new videos, or for editing, and thus they develop their channel much faster than I do with my translations, I can't post videos with translations 3 times a week, in this life there are other obligations, from which I am not freed ....
in general, there is probably a time of disappointment ((
and all I have so far is my deteriorating vision ..

This is really a very nice feature. Auto sync option is very useful and saves a lot of time.
