In his opening speech yesterday at the Communist Party Congress, Chinese President Xi Jinping declared a firm line on Taiwan. He said China can and must reunify with the island, by force if necessary. CNA looks at whether constructs that have kept the peace across the Strait for decades are still fit for purpose.

The 3 US-China communiques is one of the biggest western foreign policy disaster of all time. Best thing to do is rip them up and go back to US- Taiwan mutual defense treaty

👉👉YOU GUYS ARE LIVING IN THE JUNGLE!👈👈
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell urged future diplomats to protect Europe's “garden”
The European Union is a “garden” that has the best combination of “political freedom, economic prosperity and social cohesion” ever known to humankind – and must be protected from the outside “jungle.”
“Keep the garden, be good gardeners. But your duty will not be to take care of the garden itself but [of] the jungle outside.” Borrel told the group of future diplomats.

Taiwan is an independent country. It has it's own government and it's own laws. China needs to seriously understand that deep down inside, they can never have control over the island.

Taiwan it is already independence as separate Indenity because Taiwan have own types of governments but still short as a sovereign nation the US toward on Taiwan is an ambiguous one but never dare to cross the red line

People say because US house speaker has been to Taiwan in 1997, so Nancy Pelosi’s visit is not violating the one China policy. But what is One China Policy, Beijing is the sole government of all China, Taiwan is a part of China. So if Beijing says you can come to Taiwan, then you can come to Taiwan, if Beijing says you can’t come to Taiwan the you don’t come to Taiwan. That is what sole government means. Doesn’t matter if you were allowed to come decades ago, you are not allowed now, so don’t come. Imagine Pelosi wants to come to Beijing, and Beijing says no, how could she come? Smuggle herself in? The line is not about who can come to Taiwan, it’s about who has the authority to say who can come to Taiwan officially. If it’s an official visit by another country’s top officials, it’s up to the destination’s governing body to decide whether they can come or not. In this case, the US recognise Beijing as the sole government over Taiwan according to One China Policy, then it should abide by the commitments and listen to Beijing and not come. Why is it so hard for anyone to understand? If my neighbours recognise the granny flat in my backyard is my property, then any neighbour who wants to visit the granny flat needs my permission. Doesn’t matter who lives in the granny flat. It’s my property. And you don’t come in without my permission.

👍🙏Under "one China policy" doesnt mean 🇨🇳Communist China has a right to invade or claim Democratic Taiwan🇹🇼 who was established in 1912 & never being part of Communist China🇨🇳. Taiwan has a right to form any government it deems fit.

Why is CNA allowing the use of “Taiwan” when the shift of recognition was from the Republic of China to the People Republic of China. Both are Chinas with Taiwan as their province.
Don’t speak of Taiwan as if it is a country! Thats the silent narrative in all western medias!
CNA needs to be neutral and factual!

In Short, the United States Outsmarted the Chinese in the Communiques through her mastery of language. One China Policy is ambiguous as it can mean policy from both country's perspectives

The one thing viewers have to understand in geopolitics is that there is no one single international law or enforcer of this law. Conflict can only be avoided by threats or potential consequences.
In 1979, the US recognized China in order to win its conflict with the Soviet Union. The agreement was vague but the essence of the agreement acceptable to both sides was essentially met. Today the Soviet no longer exist and the US is pushing the boundary of the agreement into China's read lines. This is the Ukraine War all over again.
China is reminding the US and Taiwan about crossing its red lines but the US and Taiwan is testing the limits. Chinese red lines has been breached, warning issued. If the US and Taiwan does not back away from its posture, China will attack when it is ready. Putin staged its forces and attacked when ready, moving suddenly from threat to a false assurance before finally attacking.
When China stops making threats, it will attack. China is already more than capable to take Taiwan and defeat the US but Xi appears cautious and wants more certainty in strength. China is complaining less about US aggressive sanctions and provocations, this shows that China has crossed the rubicon.

How independent is Taiwan without the US ? How independent is Hongkong without the UK ? All the people on these island cnations were colonised and most are akin to the people on the mainland of China . Most have familiar relations and business on the mainland of China. People's Republic of China controls the mainland since 1951 and were voted into the UN in 1971 and became a permanent member of the UN security council. Taiwan and Hongkong
must accept there is a compromise to be made when foreign powers encourage hostilities and prohibitions of trade with the PRC government on the mainland will lead to political hostilities between the US and the UK.
Ukraine relies heavy on military aids from the US and the UK as well as from Nato to combat Russia missiles and tanks. Taiwan and Hongkong should consider the consequent when Titans fight for the sovereignty of island nations. Diplomacy and negotiations with your enemies as you wouldyour friend is to hedge your bet on both sides.
To disregard your neighbours concerns is to dice with fate .
