Most blokes seem to be running too big of a tyre than what their rig is designed for.

When he showed those fuel prices, holy shit, we can only dream now

2L/100km more is 266L extra per year for the average Australian's travelled distance. So 500 bucks per year for your bigger tyres, not taking into account that the tyres themselves cost more as well.
Personally i do about 30k per year and the offroading i do i don't really need more than 32s so thats what i went with so i average about 9L/100k and would definitely have felt it in my pocket if i tried running 35s just for the big rig factor.

Donuts, while not looking aggressive, have proben to be a more capable offroad tire vs their wide counterparts, PLUS you can utilize that weight you don't need for spare fuel to other items.

My Taco is only going to a 33" tyre. no need to burn too much extra to get to the same places. As well, a Pizza cutter tyre size vs the massive 285-315 ranges.

Have twice as many cylinders as you need?

You'll notice it way more around town than highway... unless you're talking about your old hilux where you lost the use of 6th. I went from 31" to 33-34" (depending on the specific tire the diameter varies from manufacturer to the next) but I still have 6th gear and cruise at 1200rpm at 80km/h. 120km/h is roughly 1700-1800rpm. (My speedo is corrected to the new size and GPS accurate) I see less than 1 liter/100km difference. And that's in a 2.7t 4x4 gmc sierra 1500. With a 4.3l petrol v6.

Headwinds and uphill driving is what kills fuel range the most.

My ln46 uses less fuel with 33's it used to scream with stock size tyres at 80kmh. It has been 2lt swapped with modified injection pump

Hey ronny do yall increase rim width with tire size? Here in the US rhey recommended 7.5 to 8 inches wide rim for 35s. Love the videos

At the same speed with the same load the bigger tyres would be more economical! It's the acceleration ie take off that requires the extra oomph
Take it easy off the lights touring and you won't see any difference

Going up from 10l/100km to 12l/100k at a fairly conservative 1.8€ per liter would equal a 3600€ difference over 100kkm... so if it's your daily driver and you it takes you three years to go the 100k, then that's 100€ extra per month.

that's some interesting math's.

I take 10 bad boys on our trips, mainly for the boat😀

Most people just work from the km’s traveled on the odo not the additional circumference of the tyre.

So if you put 33”s on your 70 you can’t expect the same odo range as you have changed you final drive ratio by 7%.

It’s physically impossible to get the same range.

fitting 33s to my fj cruiser made no difference in fuel economy

Why not just regear when running larger tires? I've seen Tacomas on 37s not suffering in the fuel and power department.👌

Although I realize that's expensive too.

Just adjust your gearing take out those 4:10s and put in some 2:73

I literally got better fuel on running 35s over 32s, but tbh i only get 290km to a 90l tank so she’s thirsty
