As a Florida native, I find the assertion that there are currently only 15 days per year with temperatures in the 90s to be pretty ridiculous. I grew up in the northernmost part of Florida, and the temperature was in the 90s basically every day from June to September.

I’m born and raised in Tampa Fl and honestly you become accustomed to the dangers of nature. Everywhere has their risks, but everything is changing at an alarming rate summers are getting insanely hot winters aren’t cold really anymore we used to have cold fronts in the 30s and 40s most of our winter and now it’s cold for maybe one day out the week. It’s scary.

I live in Florida at 6 ft above mean sea level. I am surrounded by waterways on both sides.
Ironically, because of this, there is never any flooding. It all drains off really quick.
In the last 45 years, we've endured all the hurricanes with little to no damage.
People in other areas, however, are not as lucky.
I've seen many a home completely totaled after a big storm.

A lot of “will be” fear mongering but as someone who’s been here more than 30 years, I can confirm the hurricanes, water levels, and heat have been about the same and the beaches are all still here along with the mansions along the beaches. The only thing that’s increased is the housing prices due to northerners coming down to Florida.

I still can't believe that people in places like Florida don't build stone or concrete homes that are sealed and waterproofed. We have the technology, we can build it

From Ft Lauderdale here, and the spring flood destroyed so many homes. Mold. Lived through Andrew, Wilma, etc. Paid off my home, but everyone moved here and I gained a new payment with my increased property taxes and my bloated insurance rates. The governor could've made incentives for insurance companies to stay...but failed. He was running for President instead.

I wouldnt be so sure the increase in damage is due to hurricanes getting "stronger", we have to remember that Florida went from one of the least populated states to the 3rd most populated in under 100 years. Of course there is going to be more hurricane damage when there are more people living there...

People have been saying the same stuff for decades going all the way back to the 60s and we are still here, thriving and enjoying life. I love Florida!!

If sea level is going to rise in the near future, why are people able to take out 30+ year mortgages in Florida?

Wouldn’t the prospectus, a legal document, require this disclosure on a sales agreement?

Instead of worrying about this, we should all hate each other state for being not the state that we like. That’ll help fix this problem.

This is why I don't live there. I'll deal with blizzards and tornadoes that are almost never in my area.

I can attest to the insurance. I live within 30 minutes of the hospital mentioned in the video and home owners here has gone from 1800 in 2017 to 3300 in 2022 and 7800 in 2023

I’ll worry when the run down trailer homes in the Florida keys that currently sell for $900K drop to $50k…

😮I have lived in the Miami Florida area for the past 40 years...
Many changes are very noticeable.
Freezing temperatures have disappeared in the past 10 years.
The days of "king tides" have increased 4X to 5X...
Hotter summer temperatures are obvious.
Biscayne Bay is obviously dying. The amounts of seaweed has greatly increased!!
My house is built of concrete with steel shutters. Its built like a bunker. It has withstood 4 hurricanes with no damages... but the insurance Premiums ... are going through the roof!
The sad part that the government does almost nothing.
In fact the politics of the state have The deteriorated Into an ideology that believes climate change is fake.😢 😢😢😢😢

We were told that Florida would be under water by 2005. And that it would be a desert by 2007. And then be under water again in 2010.
