You hit the nail on the head by calling it character instead of flaws. They are budget anamorphic lenses that look good. I applaud companies for putting more focus on those of us who don’t have the budget, but rather the vision and heart to produce something that can holds up well. So glad you’ve gone full time on here, look forward to seeing what else you can do with these lenses. And seeing if at some point I can mansplain to my wife why we need these…

Guy made a whole fast and the furious for an intro, what a beast 🔥

Can confirm these lenses are great for the price!

I love it when reviewers cross-reference other well regarded reviewers (in this case anamorphic on a budget, Tito) and acknowledge that diversity of opinion is valuable. The ego-free content is appreciated. Well done Cam!

Dude the intro looks amazing! Also, barrel at this price. Finally!

I just worked 1st AC on a film with Zeiss master prime anamorphic and the softness you get when it's wide open is unmatchable, that being said, those lenses are $40k a pop here in Canada. I like that these lenses are under $2K and with that they give their own distinct look, amber flares, barrel distortion etc. The extent companies are going to create original equipment with very fair prices is an exciting conversation and we are blessed to be filmmakers in 2023. Thanks for the breakdown! I will now buy one...lol.

Thanks for the honest opinions. For me it's a pass but I really like what they're offering. Blazar and Sirui are really great options for indie filmmakers and I appreciate the competition that they both bring to the market.

For a s35 camera would you still pick the REMUS over something like the Nanomorphs?
I really dig the REMUS but have no experience with anamorphic lenses - So it would be my first one.
Personally the Remus feels like up my alley, especially with the barrel distortion compared to the pin on the Nanos and they seem a lot cleaner than the Remus. I just know that I would dread that distortion correction step on every clip in post with the Nano. Then again will I be able to take enough advantage of the Remus on a s35 sensor?

Thank you

The way how you creatively use this low-budget anamorphic lens takes your footage to the next level🔥🙏🏼

I have the Blue flare version. It's actually pretty neutral, unless the light source is blue. What I don't like is the strong green flare that you also get. Just overpowers everything in the frame. Makes me want to not flare the lens at all

Being able to use them with a speed booster/tuner is a big freaking deal I saw on their site! Also, it looks like they are leaning into the cat-eye effect of the bokeh to make those corners look more like a 2x anamorphic. I've seen a similar effect shooting on the Isco adapters on wider than-recommended taking lenses and it looks sick! This is the first new anamorphic set I've been genuinely interested in buying, and the footage looks excellent as always, Cam!

nice review man, thank you. can you think this set of lens are good choice for wedding films?
I would like to have a set of anamorphic lenses to pair with my zcam e2 f6 but I don't know which ones to get, compromise between light weight, ease of use, and overall look.

Can these mount onto a Sony E with maybe a speedbooster adaptor?

Do they have a constant squeeze factor at different focus distances? I remember the Blazar 50 1.8x having inconsistent squeeze factor at different focal points.

If picking only one would the 45mm be a good pick for an all arounder for music videos? May be using on both Fx30/Fx3. Will it be too wide on the FX3 and would the 65mm be too tight on the fx30? Lol cant decide .

I am a French videographer, and your work is magnificent and super creative. I love it and I will watch and be inspired by you.

2:02 i prefer the Cooke Look. They have pincushion distortion and the “Cooke Look" is a thing in cinema. Laowa’s Nanomorphs have this look as well and you can easily correct it in post👍🏻
But somehow when cheaper lenses have pincushion distortion, people start complaining🙄
