My Hollie is 8 weeks old and so far she is the sweetest, easiest to train, and most well behaved dog I've ever owned. Now that being said I do work with her almost constantly right now and she gets plenty of exercise between our walks and playing with our other dog.

It's a lot of work to own a border husky mix. But I promise you it is worth it. They require stimulating activities since they are both active breeds. Mine loves kong squeaky balls, and they keep him entertained for hours. They are also relatively easy to train. You just have to continue that training every day, at least teaching them for a couple of minutes. Dogs are creatures of habit so keep that in mind too. Also, if you want a calmer dog when you come home, they reflect your energy. So be a calm person when you walk through the door to greet them. Again, it takes a lot of energy and time and it will wear you out. Personally, this is a dog for families who can take time to train it or who can keep it active. If you are going to just keep it in your apartment all day long and never really spend any time with it outside at a dog park or in your backyard, etc, I would recommend a different breed. They are outside working breeds who love to run ramped. Hope this helps!

I have a bc/husky mix, she’s about 8 moths old now. She’s very calm and quiet, does get regular exercise but doesn’t go silly if she has to miss a few days of being walked, or socialised. She has a double coat like a husky but the top layer of hair is like the collie and she HARDLY SHEDS!!! Great dog, I don’t know if it’s the way she’s been raised or just a fluke but she’s really a perfect mix of the two breeds.

Border collie, voted smartest dog ever. Herding dog mixed with running dog. Dog that guards and controls livestock with dog that guards and scoffs at winter snow. That's like some mutant super hero dog. What an exhaustive combination of brilliance and stamina. I do not envy the person that has to keep this dog enriched.

I have a female husky/ bc mix that is almost a year old now. Can definitely say that most of what this video says about the mix is spot on. Especially the shedding and need for lonngggg play sessions. Have talked to the owners of her siblings and found out that every single one of them (including her) has a bad problem with separation anxiety. Not sure if this is common with this mix as my exposer is limited, but thought it'd be worth mentioning.
