Husky-Malinois

Hyper intelligent. Hyper driven. Hyper athletic. Hyper melodramatic. Hyper hyper.

He has more energy than a nuclear reactor.

For a mix of two incredibly hyper dogs, he seemed to be surprisingly calm during his bath! At least, from what we saw lol

Gosh, when he stands up in the bath and puts his paws on your back he looks like a full-on werewolf 🤣

Mixing a Husky with a Malinois sounds like some sort of experimental weapons program.

Did Leo escape from DARPA by any chance?

One of the many sick, injured, and abandoned dogs my grandparents rescued was this same mix. A real handful during his recovery and rehab, but they observed him closely like they did all their rescues and saw that along with his deep drive to work that he was VERY intelligent, a quick learner, and very responsive. So they picked the perfect forever home for him-- my aunt's egg farm.

It worked out beautifully. My aunt was handicapped and so walked with a bad limp, and the dog, Cole, was always there when she needed him for every kind of task. He herded, guarded, ran predators off, alerted her to any emergencies with her chickens' health long before it became a big problem, and screened visitors. Once, somebody tried to break in and rob her while her husband was away -- BIG mistake. I heard that Cole came soaring over the fence like an eagle, and all the stunned criminal could do was stare and scream.

I had a husky/ malinois mix, she was abandoned in a Walmart parking lot after the rest of the litter sold and she didn't. She was honestly the best girl ever, she lived for 16 years. She looked just like this one. Rip Sheba

Leo is truly a bundle of fur and energy. And it's first I've seen one actively trying to remove his bandana.

I had a Malinois/malamute cross. SHE was crazy.. but she would have walked through fire for me. Very literally saved my life once. Loved that dog

Former Mal owner here. As soon as he walked in the door I could see it all over him. They just walk into any room with an absolute confidence. Seems like he’s got a good owner who knows what they’ve gotten themselves into.

'And I'm not wearing this bandana either!'

What a lovely dog

He seemed like a good boy, especially for five months.

Just what we all need, a Husky escape artist that can jump 12 feet vertical! 😂😂

My last dog was a husky/malinois mix! I got him when he was old so he was mostly chilled out, but he needed super long walks. Rex was a grumpy old man with a unique light orange coat with grey tiger stripes. He was sweet to me and loved to sing though. He got lymphoma. I miss him every day.

“A mouthy Malinois. You don’t say…”
Way too much shade. But hysterically accurate.

I have the highest respect for people who have dogs like that. I just couldn’t. I adopted an elderly pug and we had the best naps together. Those are my type of dogs.

I'm honestly surprised he's as quiet in the bath as he seemed to be... Too busy figuring out how to get out and RUN I'll bet, lol.

I am impressed with his demeanor while bathing - none of our pet dogs liked taking a bath or rather the process of bathing, but they seemed to have enjoyed their cleanliness for a day.

My very first dog was a ‘nightmare mix’! She was husky, chow, german shepherd, and aussie shepherd. Very smart, very stubborn, very fluffy, and very loyal. We got her when I was 4, and she passed 14 years later. She loved to ‘herd’ people and our other dogs, and run, as expected from her breeds. She might not have been the ideal first dog breed, but she taught me to love dogs, and I still miss her every day, almost 4 years later.

We have a German Shephard/husky/malamute/akita mix. When we got her DNA tested, we said "ok, her insane personality make sense now!" 🤣 Between the hair and the vocalizations...NEVER AGAIN. lol
