I am homesick after 7 years living in the UK

"The place I grew up wanting to leave and grow old wanting to come back."

After 7 years of living abroad, I really miss home where the people, the places and the food matter. Parents prepare food for you, asking if you have eaten yet, the warm hugs and never-ending chats are my favourite. Everything warms me up 🧡

Feeling a little sad by being away from home? being homesick is normal when you are living abroad, missing your family, friends and home very much. Making friends when you are older is hard but you are also learning to be strong and to take care of yourself. I struggled with it for a while when I couldn't talk to anyone who felt or experienced the same things as me. Luckily, I have met some friends who listen to me and make me feel at home 🏠 It all takes time and you are doing just fine, well done you!

This is a really nice video. My family are from HK but i was born in England. This makes me want to travel back so much.

Thank you so much for this video, Claudia. I'm from Brazil, and I've been living in Sheffield, UK, for over 3 years now. Sometimes, I struggle to understand my feelings about home. I want to stay, but I also would love to go home. I think you've captured this feeling perfectly in this video.
