In this video, I discuss the difference between air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps from a homeowners perspective and an investment point of you. I cover 6 criteria that affect the choice.

Ground source heat pumps are more expensive to install but they do provide larger annual savings in heating costs.

Great to find your channel. Can we agree that ground temperature is between 0 and 7 degree and the air temperature can be anything from -30 all the way to plus 40, all centigrade.. and its extremely import to know if you require air conditioning or not.. if yes then the ground source must be the most efficient due to the low temp of the ground compared with the summer air temperature and if in north like your land then (under)ground source in the winter and in the summer best (over) ground source more suitable to just heat hot water (with no air conditioning). Then the ground source would be extremely efficient compared to the air source
So if you don't require air conditioning then that would assume the location doesn't have long or too cold winters below 20 degrees and the summer temperature is around 20 degrees so the air source must be more efficient especially as the cost in nearly 50% cheaper.
Additionally if you have PV and or wind turbine via a MPPT then this massively reduces the cash cost of running the system.
Would you agree with this statement??
