Nice video. However, at 16:00, your explanation of why Apple can build a better emulation diverges from reality. Translating x86 code to ARMv8-9 opcodes is fundamentally the same for both companies. Yes, Apple has an advantage in ARM knowledge, but you mentioned Microsoft's challenge as having to partner with Intel/AMD to accomplish this, which is no different for Apple. Both are translating code from the x86 ISA to the ARMv8-9 ISA. Also, with the introduction of the M4 chip, the die size becomes irrelevant. To further illustrate the gap between ARM on Windows and Apple, consider the price points: a comparably specced Lenovo X13s with ARM is not only more expensive than the MacBook Air but also substantially lower in performance, even when comparing it to the M1 MacBook Air. The Lenovo is $1800 compared to $1200 for the MacBook Air. Even when both are loaded with Linux, there is a noticeable performance gap for casual users, which becomes substantial when quantified with benchmarks.

no the new emulation or translation from windows is almost on par with apple rosetta u were right if u were talking about 2022 but in 2023 when windows launched an snapdragi=on variant of devewloper kit altough the chip was garbage during that time windows also incorporated a new emulation just like rosetta and this trnslation is almost on par with roseta if not better.So ur right but its a old news and ur talking about older translation layer
