How do you boot into recovery in a VM farm? there are thousands of windows instance on the farm supposed to let users to remote in, it sounds impossible to have support team to remove the sys file one by one 🤷‍♀

My laptop started showing BSOD since early last week. After BSOD, none of the hard drives were detected. I thought my trusty laptop was nearing its end and almost made plans to replace it. The IT technician did not know what was wrong with it as it happened only in the mornings. This has again mysteriously stopped since last 2-3 days.

If you restore mssql server vm from backup, it no longer a solution. it is DRP exercise and expect to have data loss and lawsuit 😊😊😊

Hi, I am IT Enginner of a small company with just 35-50 Desktops, I do daily backup off users Data or Profile(with Outlook), now you are saying to restore.. What to restore..? and where Or you mean to tell to restore windows from backup...? or from restore point...?
I tried restore point, from week ago but its of no use, not booting. And Please specify the Antivirus that downloads the defination from crowdstrike...? I also have antivirus installed on more than 700+ host, I check almost more than 280 Host for the daid folder but its not located at said location. (OS Win10-11 X64 Fully Updated), I think microsoft is hiding the fact that the updates of antivirus was from microsoft defender... and thats only I can see as impact was. Because I first notice to the institue where students where using microsoft surface with 11 on it where only Defender was present. And there also the issue started from Jun 20th 2024. So Impact was not from 19th July. Its from past 1 month. But Impact of it was seen in max from 20th or 19th July.
As an Small IT Enginner, I dont see any one will be taking baremetal backup of desktop os on daily basis... You may be, or you are suggesting to do so, but practically not possible. Any ways please tell specify what you are willing us to practice on daily basis. Suppose I also want to do, How will i as my office staff works on shift and pc's are on for almost 24 hours so taking backups means need to make them stop work daily for couple of hours.

We can learn many things from this incident, but the most important is that Microsoft Windows is a hopelessly flawed operating system. There will never be a secure version of this product because is would put their security partners like CrowdStrike out of business. What will it take for IT leaders to finally realize the only way to prevent the next possibly catastrophic incident is to stop using Microsoft Windows?
