The Minecraft Survival Guide Season 3 continues in Minecraft 1.21.4 - The Garden Awakens!

In today's video, we take our first trip to the new Pale Garden biome, a variant of the Dark Oak Forest with a grey sky, pale oak trees, and a sinister soundscape.
This biome is home to the Creaking, a mob spawned by the Creaking Heart block. These creatures don't take damage, attack you when your back is turned, and must be traced back to the Creaking Heart block to be defeated. I explain some survival strategies when faced with Minecraft's answer to the Weeping Angels!
We also look at the rich variety of blocks obtainable from this biome - everything from the new Pale Oak wood, to Pale Moss and Hanging Moss, to Eyeblossom flowers and the new Resin blocks generated when you punch the Creaking!

I do love that the pale garden is nice and eerie. It’s not as nerve wracking as the deep dark but, it’s a nice middle ground in terms of terror.

Also getting chased by Weeping Angel style wood spirits while other mobs attack you is at least a little stress inducing 😅

besides learning about the pale garden I learned why I find meddow biomes near my plane biome all the time, never new about the elevation mechanic so thanks for that!

I wonder if the poisonous eyeblossoms are somehow tying into it being a night flower - since the bees are supposed to be in their hives at night, it wouldn't be a natural interaction to get, and so the flowers wouldn't have avoided evolving a trait that poisons a pollinator because they're not pollinated BY the bees.

The eyeblossom could also be like a toggle daylight sensor, if you use an observer next to it

resin blocks " suffer" from oversaturation making them unusable as a base building block without looking really over the top.
But they are probably really great as a contrast/context block. In the right build they could achieve something no other block really could so far. The closest to it would be shroomlight in terms of color and texture. But those are light blocks, which the resin blocks are not.

Now imagine it’s the first ever time you load up minecraft and you spawn in one of those, of which you don’t get out before night because you are too busy just figuring out how to do tools and stuff. What a welcome party!
