And whoever is saying squadrons are masochist….

I can confirm all these methods work. Glad you added the caveat about queue times for DPS tho. And for people on the fence, Frontline roulette is awesome for levelling. There are so many people that it doesn't matter if you're not good at it. Plus you get the PvP currency, win or lose, that you can use to purchase glam, mounts, hairstyles, emote, etc

Squadron makeup matters. Optimally, you want a Marauder, Conjurer, and Thaumaturge's for DPS. The Thaumaturge is important. TM's default AOE spam + will heal you too if the NPC Conjurer flubs or you accidentally overpull. If you keep them all on Offensive they turn into mindless beings of destruction comparable with Roulette runs. Then, there's the added benefit of keeping all the gear you loot plus being able to slow down/pause if your new job class' mechanics confuse you at points.

This is perfect since I'm done with my classes now and am picking up FFXIV again to level up my alt classes before graduation! Keep up the great work ステファンちゃん <3

One more thing along the lines of duty support is your Grand Company Squadron. Once they are leveled up, they will out dps a real party. Terrible at mechanics but they rarely die anyway. Good up to level 60.

Just resubbed to xiv recently and got my first skysteel tool fully upgraded thanks to the video you put out. Was just googling best way to lvl alt jobs and looking at threads and this vid gets uploaded! Keep up the great work man your vids are super helpful!

What you said about doing duties with NPCs, that people like to do Single target VS AoE, AoE is more time efficient by far. while the NPCs themselves do only single target, it might feel faster to bully the one enemy, but you can think of Dungeons as having one Big HP pool, you have to kill every Enemy that is pulled, so by doing AoE your pumping out a lot more damage and making it go quicker.

Hey BunBoss, I’ve gotten a lot of use out of your controller guides and they have made the game so much more immersive for me to play. You’re my go to for FFXIV content. I’m leveling my BLM to 70 for Shadowbringers content and am excited to put your tips to use!

Another great tip is to make sure your Challenge Log is Completed by the class you wanna level. It's a nice amount of weekly exp, and ontop of it you get a decent amount of gil.
Ideally, you wanna complete all the Battle, Fate, and levequests categories. Levequests are easily cheesable by doing the low level crafter leves (if you aren't leveled in crafters and wanna be, make sure you do the highest possible) and buying the items from npc shops, then doing the battle leve when its the last entry for it, you can make a decent amount of exp.

Regarding the Shadowbringers beast tribe quests, what I did is after I got a job to lvl 70 I "soft stopped" and started to level another job from scratch with the same methods you described while I did the beast tribe quests daily with the job I left at 70. If you don't have THAT much time to play daily I found this nice to sorta level two jobs at the same time with very little effort. Could do the same once you reach 80 for the EW beast tribe quests (If you have one job in the 70's, another in the 80's you can level three jobs at once). Not sure if this is better but if you queue in roulette as DPS those beast tribes for other jobs are a perfect time killer and you get a lot of XP too! Btw, the time spent in pre- SHB beast tribe quests is not worth it assuming you've already finished them all. Also, I heard it's best to leave the "Levelling" roulette for the end of the day, like, last thing you do before logging out, and the same goes to Wondorous tails, wait until the end of the week to get that XP, so that you have the highest level possible (And try to align that XP gain so that you can clear a level gap with no dungeon to run).

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but one note about Frontline is that if you finish off your commedation weekly challenge in Frontline, the job you are PLAYING gets the exp reward, not the job you queued as. I have missed millions of experience forgetting this by accident lmao so be careful and have fun in Frontlines!

I love how in depth and useful this guide is. I didn’t think about most of these things and i have quite a few leveled job, i am one of those people who works on one job at a time and just does my daily roulettes on it

For 1-20 there is a way way quicker way to get to speed through the ranks. Have a friend join you in an area with a level 59-60 enemy range on a DPS class (important to note do not have them join your party) so they can one shot the ads, so long you hit them once you’ll get full XP.

I would even say the xp of crystalline conflict is not so bad if you're just into spamming some rounds. Granted it's not as reliable, since you gain considerably less if you lose the match, but it has the benefit of being quick paced if you need a change of pace from the long dungeon runs.

I normally hate MMORPG PVP, but the Frontline roulette's XP is too good to pass up. On top of that, doing the grind will gain you access to PVP-exclusive emotes, hairstyles, cosmetic gear, minions, and mounts. So there's nice fringe benefits on top of the XP. The only downside is that how long it takes depends a lot on the chosen battleground. Like Carteneau really drags out compared to the others.

Mentor here, If you have friends (or PF patience) and you are mentor look to party with 1 sprout/returner or viceversa before queue, both of you will get EXP bonus just from that up to lvl 80.

Doesn't matter what kind of mentor you are, that exp bonus is very sweet.
(This doesn't apply if the Duty finder paired you, you have to be in party BEFORE looking for dungeon... It works for crafters as well if not mistaken)

I imagine duty support is slower because the npcs only single target and they probably run the lowest possible item level for that duty. But that's only a guess of mine.

About AoEs vs Single Targeting, I think it varies a little from job to job, but there is an absolute objectively correct choice to make. Generally, for groups of 3 or more mobs using AoEs will give you greater total potency output. That is why clearing mobs goes faster when everyone uses AoEs. Greater potency output equals faster clear time regardless of whether you deplete the total pool of mob hp one mob at a time or distributed across all the mobs. The reason AoEs are beneficial is because they scale with the number of mobs hit (I don't know if there is a cap on how many mobs can be hit with one AoE, but there probably is.), while a single target attack will only ever do base damage + modifiers to a single target.
An AoE that does 50 potency will deplete the enemy hp pool faster than a single target attack that does 200 potency in a fight against 5 or more mobs.
I have not yet discovered the secrets behind how skill potency relates to equipment stats, but I assume that differences in gear can possibly cause some variation in damage output between characters with similar potency output.
I would very much appreciate if someone who knows that stuff could lay some wisdom on me. Thanks!

Definitely seconding the idea of queueing into an actual dungeon with real people as a DPS when you're sub-50. While hunting log is great to get 1-15, it also has additional stages that unlock at later levels ( I believe the five ranks unlock at lv1, 10, 20, 30, and 40). So all the way until level ~45 or so, I was queuing into dungeons and while I waited, scooting around Eorzea to kill a couple of marks until all five ranks of my job's hunting log were knocked out. With the Road to 80 buff, those two techniques vaulted me to 50.
