The only thing I don’t understand is why they refuse to give Vegeta a clean, clear cut, winning arc. Let Vegeta evolve and be the big hero #1 for once. With him pulling the full risk of loss.

Ive always had the theory since this came out that vegeta will never actually fully master this form because of how much he values his new life. Like i feel there will come a point where he either crosses into complete godhood but in turn basically has to give up his whole new life he created for himself for it, and weirdly i see him denying this path more than i see goku choosing to fully ascending. I think that side of him outweighs even his "super ego" now and that he wont fully dive into the path of being a true destroyer.

One thing I appreciate is that Vegeta in this state isn't a completely old person nor a new person, and this state isn't suddenly a forced brutality that will hurt others inherently. It allows for control and the general nature isn't going to consume Vegeta like when he was way back in early Z. It is just harnessing the power innate within him. Since he doesn't actually destroy the home himself, it's safe to say he doesn't completely lose it. He just gives Goku a hit because he interfered and can take it. Most of the stuff Vegeta does that is aggressive now is out of a new purpose, but he doesn't lose everything that makes himself who he is, just like Goku doesn't become a different person entirely with UI. It all is delving into true nature, and I think Vegeta can actually keep Ego under check without disregarding everything he has experienced if he truly does master it. Like Goku learning true Instinct through his own roots as one with Saiyan Blood as well as a peaceful upbringing. Vegeta having the harsher upbringing does mean he gets more aggressive, but doesn't hamper him. Even Majin Vegeta still loved his family, he didn't end up hitting any of his family or friends in the blast. It may not actually require full detachment. If Goku needs to hear his father to gain new power, I don't see why Vegeta needs to lose his family ties to do the same. They are both inherently different yet linked.

To me the transformations make perfect sense. Ultra Instinct is about openness, the “just do it” effortlessness that Goku embodies. Ultra Ego is about supreme focus, mirroring Vegetas consistent hard work. Both are paths to enlightenment and their descriptions of how they feel when they achieve their forms are very similar to descriptions of enlightenment.

So in ultra ego, Vegeta is 100% himself, a pure individual, in absolute control, and in godlike levels of focus.

I feel like Vegeta's final stage in this line of transformations is going to be a harmony between the best aspects of his Super Ego, and his Ego. A "Perfect" ego so to speak. Both the pride filled, strength obsessed, battle hungry sayian, but also the caring protective father who wants to push everyone one around him to constantly strive to improve and aim to be the best.

Transforms -> gets beat up in order to get stronger -> passes out from being beat up

Bro put it together so neat, I actually like Ultra Ego a lot better. The fact that vegeta struggles to master it because he can’t fully become the “callous man” he once was i just love that.

You got it spot on. Ego doesn’t mean “arrogance”. It means the self. Everyone has ego. People saying the name is stupid is actually coming from their own ego. Vegeta is accepting himself which makes him stronger.

What a severely underrated video. I hope this blows up. Never seen anyone talk about the true design behind Ultra Ego like this before. I think we saw the very beginnings of Ultra Ego begin to emerge during the ToP, where Vegeta finally chooses to blaze his own trail, as opposed to constantly following Goku's.
10/10 my man. Keep up the great content.

Pretty awesome video! I didn't take issue with the name when I first heard it, in fact I thought it sounded perfect, and your video essay all the more proves that. Vegeta is on a path of discovery of self, and understanding his "ego" I think is perfect place for his character development to be in

I don’t get the ‘goofy name’ argument. It’s perfectly descriptive of the form’s function, effectively communicates that it’s the antithesis to Ultra Instinct, and if nothing else is no more goofy than Super Saiyan Blue.

I genuinely appreciate making new forms that align with the character’s, well, character, and their personal story and growth.

Honestly I've never had any issues with ultra ego's name, design, or even its powers. It's very clearly still incomplete, just as Goku's UI was incomplete when he first started using it. As Vegeta improves and develops new skills to supplement UE, I think we'll see it really come into its own. Maybe he'll develop a passive regen to help compensate for the damage he takes, or he'll improve the speed of his ability to ramp up in strength. I suspect that he'll stop outright tanking attacks as he gets more experienced and instead start focusing on trading blows, using the damage he takes to grow stronger at the moment of his attacks, then recovering during the lull of combat with passive regen or something

Finally someone gave Ultra Ego some justice. Many people trash on the form for multiple reasons but they rarely try to understand it. It's quite possible the best form for Vegeta, his destructive nature that he was born and raised with. I see him one day mastering Ultra Ego in a way that matters to him specifically. His pride as the prince of saiyans, his pride as a man who protects his family, and his pride for his destructive nature mixed together to make a form that helps him overcome his own hurdles that put him behind Goku

Another great video as always. I would have never seen all this depth Super has had it not been for this channel.

I see it as a parallel to the two sides of The Force. The Light Side being selflessness and becoming one with The Force and the Dark Side being selfishness and beding The Force to your will. Ultra Instinct is giving yourself to The Force in full and letting it guide you in a sort of zen state. Ultra Ego would be the opposite, enslaving breaking the chains that binds you to it and achieving true mastery of yourself.

Being told I'm wrong for thinking it sounds goofy is crazy LMAO I get why it has ego in the name I just think "Ultra Ego" (both words together) sound goofy. I like the form!

Ego = Aware
Instinct = Unaware

They're polar opposites
