Opened in stages between 1891 and 1916, the extraordinary Trans-Siberian Railway runs like a steel ribbon across Russia's vast interior. At 9,288 kilometres in length, it is the longest and arguably the greatest railway journey in the world.
In this talk, hosted by our most-experienced Tour Manager, Tatiana Kolesnikova, you will hear how this remarkable engineering feat was achieved and what a journey along this momentous railway aboard the Golden Eagle train looks like today.

In the Q&A section at the end, Tatiana and our Marketing Manager, Natasha, answer questions from the audience, including;
- What are the main differences between a Trans-Siberian journey in the summer and the winter (apart from the weather of course)?
- Is there a preference for travelling Eastbound, from Moscow to Vladivostok, or Westbound?
- How does the train stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer?
- What do the cabins aboard the Golden Eagle train look like?
