Are you buying miniLED or OLED, and why?

There's still a huge market for mini led for years to come. It's far more reliable and durable than the Oled screens. Remember that Oled contains organic material, which is easily overlooked by most reviewers. Not everyone wants to buy a TV every other year or even 5 but like it to last 10 years (or more)!
That's just reality for most consumers.
Purists and ppl with ocd or fomo, okay! 😂

I *love* my mini-LED QN90B. I use my screen as a PC gaming monitor and burn-in makes OLED a no-go. It's so much better than my old OLED C9 where I eventually got burn-in, and prior to burn-in was always worried about burn-in.

I'm gonna say it in is WAY more of an issue than it's made out to be by the TV community. It is a HUGE problem, and the risk of getting burn in relatively soon is WAY more than they say. I don't ever want another OLED tv ever again. What a rip off! If OLEDS start coming out with a free 15 year burn in warranty, then I'll reconsider. Other than that, OLED manufacturers can kiss my ass.

I'd expect the big 3 are putting all their chips into furthering OLED reliability and bringing micro LED to market, whether directly doing the R&D themselves, or putting up money towards it. I'm just waiting for micro LED at this point, but that's at least 5 years from not only being available, but also reasonably priced.

this push for OLED is very odd and unfortunate in the TV space... OLEDs suck for people that have static content when watching sports/news or playing video games or even just have a long/live music radio channel on youtube with those static wallpapers.
I replaced my OLED for an mini LED out of Anxiety thinking constantly about what content I have and for how long it's there. why should anyone deal with that? a TV is supposed to be something you turn on and enjoy not think about how you use it constantly. also, oleds seem to have weird uniformity issues, my last one had pink tint on the left and blue on the right and that was out of the box, not prolonged use...
I think in a couple of years OLED TVs will be phased out once people start getting annoyed by the issues they will start having. mini/micro LEDs aren't going anywhere IMO

Samsung isn't struggling with their miniLED TVs. They have half the market share especially in the mid to high end. They made more sales of miniLED last year than ever before.
TCL and Hisense are doing really well too. But Samsung has the brand name and the market.

All of Europe is getting the new Sony mini leds in all sizes. It’s just america that isn’t. Companies WANT only oleds bought because they have a life span, which means consumers replacing TVs more often. Pretty simple

Mini LED is great, idk why you think it would die out

No burn in for me thank you. I’ll keep my Sony X95K.

After buying the A95K last year I will wait for Micro-LED. The problem is not reaching 4000 or 10k nits but 1000 nits full field white. Thats the real benchmark imo. AFAIK my 75 inch Z9D reached 800 nits full field white in 2016. But after almost 7 years its LEDs have dimmed substantially. No way its reaching 800 nits full field or even 2000 nits at 10%. It dimmed quite a lot in fact, over the years...

I have a 75” QN90A and love it. Is there ever going to be a time when we can say, “This is the best tv we will ever have”? I’m sure not.

Consumers are not that smart they buy brand

Still lovin my QN90B!! Don't plan to ever buy an OLED if possible. No thank you!! Burn in is real no matter what people try to say/sell. OLED is a plasma v2 imho. While my 90B is not the best, it looks great to my eyes. Anything better would be great, but I don't need it.

The question would be which manufacturer can control the dimming zones the best in tv.

MiniLED is still a good choice in the larger sizes 85" & 95" (not mentioned) as the current LED pricing of ~ $7k - $14k versus $24k for OLED. Also what about panel life span on LED vs OLED for those who keep tv's longer? I have a LG C2, TCL LED and a Panasonic plasma on its last leg.

I went with a 2022 Sony XR75 X95K and I am EXTREMELY happy with it. I would say the only thing that’s Annoying is the lack of (4) 2.1 HDMI ports but that doesn’t affect me because I only needed 1.

I'll wait for MicroLED then.

My usage has way too high risk of burn-in. Sports, News, and most of the games I play don't have dynamic hud (oh God, why?) and I'm not swimming in money to not care about OLED burn-in.

My TCL 65 825 mini led set still works and looks great, I upgraded to the Z9K last July when it was first released. I don't think Sony is giving up on mini led TVs, I think the Z9K was very expensive and they don't sell enough of them to bring out a new version thats even better and 8k so they continue to sell it another year. It truly is a outstanding looking set and has one of the best looking hdr pictures I've ever seen.
I think Sony will eventually upgrade their mini led lineup and the X95L is supposed to basically be a Z9K without 8k support and a lot of dimming zones, at least for a Sony. If it's as good as they make it sound it should sell really well considering the price and then they'll probably bring in the rest of the L line or upgrade the Z9K but we'll have to wait and see. Sony can get away with charging a premium because they are a known quantity and their sets always tend to look nice and have a balanced picture with accurate colors out of the box, even the low end ones.
Hopefully they'll moderate their prices a bit but Sony does Sony, just like Samsung has a look and way of doing things people like, and LG.

I got a 75" QN90B to replace my LG CX 65". I was in the market for a bigger TV, and I use my TV as a PC and it's on 14+ hours a day. My CX got pretty heavy burn in after about a year and a half even with all the burn in settings on max, and running pixel refresh weekly. Luckily I had the burn in protection warranty and got a new panel, but I'm gonna move my OLED tv to my game room, since the use it'll get there is just for gaming and the occasional movie. The thing that really clinched it was that I was able to get the 75" for 1799.
