The probability of events that have occurred differs from events that have not yet occurred. Conditional probability is the probability of one event occurring given that another event has already occurred: “the probability of A given B”. Dr. Daniel illustrates what seems to be a simple conditional probability: Charles and Emma have two children. One is a boy. What is the probability that the other child is a boy? The answer is not 50%.
