Me and my buddy run a small private server for some friends that had online mode on false. Some bot called "Herobrine" connected while I was the only one on, posted an automated warning that we should use whitelists and/or an authenticator plugin and immediately disconnected. Apparently there are people out there that try to go against this guy and his methods. Crazy to see this video now, knowing the extend of this lmao

My friends run a private cracked server, and I've told them a MILLION times that an authentication plugin is important. Apparently it's "too annoying to use" or something lol

I believe the fact that we have reached the point where griefing has become automated in the best selling game of all time says less about the lengths people will go to grief on Minecraft servers and moreso just how faulty Minecraft's server security systems are. Like how do you respond to a griefer notorious for nuking 150+ servers a day with an automated bot system by banning them for a couple weeks for "offensive language"? That is insane!!

My private world, long term lets play, 6 years old, I've been doing sparse backups on it, I recently did a lot of work in it for a video, I spent 3 solid days building something. Logged out for the night, came back and it was griefed, I lost 3 days of work. I never had a whitelist because no one else I thought had access to my server. Very demotivating, I just came back from a burn out too.
