This is what happens when you place a republican in power since Reagan. The economy tanks and the federal deficit BALLOONS. Then a democrat gets elected, starts to fix things by adding regulations to the very things that caused the problems in the first place while creating some social programs to help the economy. The republicans yell and shout about the democrats are foolishly spending money, their base believe them becasue the economy starts to turn around. Then a republican gets elected and they immediately spend like a drunken sailor ballooning the deficit by giving tax cuts to the rich, deregulating the protections put in place, and increasing the military industrial complex spending, sending us to useless wars, etc.. Then the economy crashes.... enters democrat....rinse repeat...

The American consumer sold their own futures away in exchange for being able to buy stuff like flat screen TVs at Walmart cheap and right away instead of saving up to afford to buy traditional American made product like their parents and grandparents used to do. Once all the decent manufacturing jobs dried up, they started crying "foul" over what they did to themselves. Ditto for the auto industry more or less - except they spread the blame around to NAFTA.


Walmart (and Target, Amazon etc) did it because their customers were hungry to buy the cheap throw-away stuff. Seventy five percent of this situation is an own-goal. You did it to yourselves. Now go ahead and blame it on "globalism" which YOU set in motion because you had to have a big-screen for the man-cave right NOW. SMDH!

Can't Trump just remove the tariffs and proclaim that he "beat" China? A vast majority of right-wing voters will eat that up. They seem to be utterly clueless about economics.

Just by simple arithmetic we can see theoretically how much the tariffs cost us. 25% on $400 billion
is $100 billion. 100 billion divided among the 330 million people is a little over $300 per head in general, including infants. So per household of 4, we're talking $1, 200. Not to hard to believe that this war is killing everyone. We just don't see it but that money has to come from somewhere.
