What Is The Difference Between Tableau Online and Tableau Server?

This can be a very confusing topic because of the words that Tableau use to describe each of their packages. The core difference between Tableau Online and Server is where the backend server is and who manages it.

With Tableau Online, the benefit is that Tableau themselves manage the site for you. That means you don't need to hire any additional people to manage it.

Tableau Server on the other hand means you need to supply your own server to install Tableau Online on. This means you need to hire a team to manage the server at your cost.

Typically, I recommend Tableau Online managed by Tableau themselves unless you have a really pressing reason to want to manage the server yourself.

i am trying to share a link of a report with my colleagues that does not have Tableau paid account, and it seems they need to have a paid viewer account to be able to access to that link. is not any other way to share a link of a report with colleagues so that they can access to it free and whenever i update that report they just follow the same link?
