This is a video update showing some lessons I've learned about cultivating Lavender successfully in my Eastern Pennsylvania (Zone 7a) garden.

I show how to correctly site and plant your Lavender so you can grow healthy plants that fill out the way that you want them to.

These are easy to grow, sunny loving, deer resistant plants. And by picking the right cultivars you can create the Lavender garden you've always envisionsed. #lavender #garden #plants

Love lavender! Great tip to cut flowers off when planting. I’ll remember that.

Absolutely Devin. You’ve changed from 6b to 7a. I’ve found it’s imperative to know your region. And it changes!!! The other thing I’ve found that you keep talking about is proper drainage. Thanks so much for your expertise!!! You keep posting great videos like this, I’ll definitely keep sharing with my green friends!!

Thank you for posting this informative video. My lavender looked like it had died in the early part of this past spring, but thankfully it had not. It is blooming, looks great, and gives me much pleasure. Last year was my first year planting lavender and I am glad that I did.

Excellent as always.
Lavender helps attract bees into your garden as well.

Thanks so much for making this video! I’ve spent a small fortune on lavender plants only to have them die on me or not thrive. Now I know what we’ve been doing wrong :)

I ordered these from QVC and I am glad I watched your video because I would not have known to cut the blooms off the baby plants.

Great video. One lavender I planted in a hot rocky area is doing good. Two plants still
in pots (not well) obviously too much water, not enough sun. Guess what I am doing next!

I have 4 Spanish lavender surrounding my queen Emma crinum lily .. Within one year they went from tiny plants to near bushes.

You said not to put them close to edge of the step but the one you did plant on camera is close to the sidewalk. I'm assuming you end up moving that out. As it grows, are we able to relocate pretty easy!?

Excellent video ~ I actually learned a lot! I have a question. Does the plant stay green all year round? I think I accidentally killed mine 😅

Ok, I'm now officially grateful I have no deer pressure in my gardens.

So if I have English lavender in pots would it be best to plant it somewhere in my yard before winter sets in, so it does not die in the containers I transferred it to after I bought it from our farmers market?

I'm in Australia and I'm planting it because the kangaroos don't want to eat it hahaha. Just like the deers, they ruined everything else :( left the two lavender plants I had. So now I'm buying more

He says not to plant it too close to the stone steps/path... As it will not leave enough root room and space for the mature plant. Then proceeds to plant it 6" from the stone 😅.. The aggressive trauma to the roots was painful to watch. I hope they survive though and do well🙏🏽
