Sitting on a friends porch this morning in another state. Watching your video this morning has been quite soothing to me, and I thank you! I lost my 39 year old daughter a few days ago, passed in her sleep, and hearing your voice and watching this video has brought me a little peace. Her favorite colors were pink and purple, how fitting. I know the you and your family are praying people and I only ask for your prayers as we lay my sweet Sharee’ to rest this week. Thank you Laura and Aron for your love that you continue to share. Love, Anne Andrews 💕💜

Your Mother raised such a beautiful, sweet, intelligent lady!
I am learning so much from you. I am an 86 cancer patient and hope I will be strong enough this Spring to sit outside and plant seeds and lavender and other plants.
God bless you.
You have a special ministry🪴🌻🌹🥀🌸

I'm in Southern Maryland zone 7a Mid-Atlantic and we have hot humid summers with above average rainfall. I've had good luck growing 'Phenomenal' lavender in raised beds. I was able to concoct a suitable soil mixture to make the plants happy. I also just created a new herb parterre garden where I planted up 'Vera' English lavender IN-GROUND and it seems to be doing happy. I made sure the bed was on a significant incline to facilitate enough drainage. Hope this helps someone. Thanks Laura for all you do!!

Hi Laura, I’m just always in awe with how full of knowledge you are. As someone who found your channel 4 years ago randomly, your daily videos had me hooked and have introduced me to a passion I didn’t know existed. I just want to say thank you to you and Aaron for your hard work and dedication to educate this community. After watching this video, I now have to attend to my 500 pot plants and 8 acres of gardens that you inspired me to create 😂

For those looking for cold hardy lavender, I have been growing Munstead lavender for at least 5 years now and I’m zone 3B. I do have to cut it back in fall, throw a bunch of mulch on it and have it planted in a wind protected area, but so far it is thriving.

Good morning from the western side of Oregon. It's always a treat to find Laura when I haven't been able to sleep. And good morning to those of you who have already been up for hours in the Morning Light.

I’ve grown lavender for many years in different areas of the US. My favorite thing to do with some of the spent blooms is to crumble them on the floor and vacuum them up. You will have a lavender scented vacuum bag that will perfume the area whenever you vacuum. It even adds a calming effect to running the vacuum cleaner. 😂

Praying for your mother. Hope she is doing better. It's hard when things like this happen, but she has a great family and tons of support. May God keep you and yours close to his heart.

I’ve grown Munstead English Lavender for many years now. I love baking with it…..lavender blueberry scones are my husbands favorite! We also make lavender blueberry tea which our granddaughter loves. It’s such a versatile flower! ❤️

I have a 60’ hedge of phenomenal and 20’ hedge of a Spanish lavender living in a humid zone 8 - the Spanish blooms months before the phenomenal and both are evergreen. I trim mine hard as well to keep the woody base from forming.

I took the leap and purchased 3 different lavenders this spring to see how they would perform at my new home of some random varieties that looked beautiful.
When naming the common varieties you have grown I was SO surprised to see my 2 English types being the first you mentioned! (My third type is a French, those leaves ARE stunning)
Now I can grow them with a little more confidence knowing there is some Laura approved varieties in my space.

Hi, Laura. I love it when you devote an entire video to a single type of plant, like lavenders, or a single category of plants, like heat-loving. This makes it very easy for me to bookmark and file them away so I can easily find them later when I'm designing a particular area. Love your channel; I've learned so much from you. God bless.

I had read on Google a while back that there are currently over 45 different species with somewhere around 450 varieties. Absolutely something out there for everyone. The ones you showed, Laura, are amazing. And the wealth of info you gave is SO helpful! Thanks!! 💜

Absolutely love this video!! Would love to see more “focused” videos on one type of plant. Possibly sunflowers!

This video was so very helpful!! I was just telling my husband that I'd love to plant a huge drift of the Sweet Romance Lavender in front of our new patio! The timing was perfect for this video for so many reasons other than my own I'm sure! I used to think of Lavender as a Spring plant but have recently thought more of it as a mid/late Summer thing. Do you know if lavender is toxic to any animals (dogs, cats?) I know there are so many comments that it's hard to read each and every one, but I hope you know how much of an influence you have on so many gardeners on so many levels! I have planted things I had never heard of and tried several techniques since I started watching your channel nearly 5 years ago! I originally found Garden Answer looking for fairy garden ideas. Now I feel as though I have found a true mentor (besides my husband) that inspires me and thousands of gardeners worldwide! Never stop!! Blessings to you and your family!

Perfect timing! I have been wanting to plant lavender in my garden.
It’s my favorite scent and I don’t have any in garden!
Thank you for all of the information you share about the different types of lavender. It does help to know what a mature plant will look like.
As always, I love starting my day with The Garden Answer!

Absolutely love your 'tubes, watch you every day. I appreciate that you do not speak too fast, for the most part. Sometimes I loose what you have said because you seem to speed up. Great that u add text to the screen. No need to add " um" to hold your pause, no one there to interrupt and it's a lazy annoying space filler. Thank you for this fantastic review and for your enjoying presentations. Learning so much from you.

I mulched around my veg garden beds with straw this year. I had two lavender plants in the garden that needed a pruning. I was going to throw away the cut branches but decided to toss them on the straw walkways instead. So glad i did!! The next day while watering and weeding, i could smell the lavender as i was walking on it. It smelled so good! 💜
