Chipotle is one of the most popular restaurants in America, and it might not seem like a chain that would stir up much controversy. After all, the food is made right in front of you, so they are surely just as open about everything in their company, right? Unfortunately, this has not always been the case, as there have been many instances of the company holding onto secrets that paint them in a pretty unflattering light. From the outbreak of food poisoning to the carelessness towards child labor laws, let’s take a look at some secrets about Chipotle you were never supposed to know.

CHIPOTLE PSA 90 percent of ALL INGREDIENTS Are Preservative free that means you can’t treat it like fast food!! When you take leftovers home put them in the fridge! Bacteria grows so fast on rice!

Every single store in the world did this. You couldn't go anywhere without a sign saying bring exact change or pay with card because they don't have coins.

I know I'm late for the discussion, but as a Mexican who has worked in a Chipotle (almost 5 yrs), there is no debate in regards of Chipotle not respecting the Mexican culture because they sell Mexican food... The thing is, they don't!
Chipotle doesn't sell Mexican food, it is just part of their name. The biggest example is their "Barbacoa" and "Carnitas".

Saying Chipotle is mexican food is like taco bell saying their mexican food. They are both jokes but make some good food

I never eat at Chipotle... There are many local authentic Mexican restaurants where I can get good quality Mexican food and support their business as well.

I’ve never eaten at chipotle, or Taco Bell. As a Mexican American myself, I’d much rather spend that money at a mom and pop Mexican restaurant that gives me real quality Mexican food.

Anyone else get undercooked rice at chipotle every time? I've been to multiple chipotles in multiple states, and over the last few years, they can't get their rice fully cooked.

I swear, every time i've tried to give them a chance in the last 5 years, I had to trade my burrito out for a quesadilla.

Worked at chipotle for 4 years was a manager for almost 3.
The clocking out shit is super really. As a crew member Multiple times if we had a really shitty night and we were going to be kept at the store past midnight we were all auto clocked out at midnight and then we were told that the managers would adjust our time and make it look like we came into work like an hour or an hour and a half early to compensate for working off the clock but to be honest I don’t really know if that ever happened.
The guacamole being super shitty like that honestly it’s not the crewmembers fault. for a good 6 months my store got rockhard ( when trump pissed of Mexico and they wouldn’t sell them too the US) avocados to the point that they added almost an extra hour and a half in the morning labor because after knifing them in half and scooping the avocados we literally had to dice them with the chef knife because they were so hard before we could mash them. anytime we would get either really really really hard under ripe avocados or over ripe are brown avocados we were told by the district manager to do whatever we could and just get it done we were not allowed to ever run out of guac even if the avocados were disgusting. Sometimes we would spent 3 hours just on the guac because the quality was so bad it tripped the quantity.

We went to one of the Chipotle here where I live. We were not sold chips, because we were told there was none. Albeit, there were TWENTY bags of chips BEHIND the counter. Then were told those were only for online customers. We also drove a long way to get to the restaurant.
We won't be going back, plus they were skimpy on their ingredients, and they didn't have everything we wanted. This was early in the evening

But I thought Robin from Teen Titans said avocados gives super power. But then again, he is always wrong and bullied.
