Fun Fact: FIGHTING is the only type to have at least one specialist in every single gen
Gen 1 Bruno, Gen 2 Chuck, Gen 3 Brawly, Gen 4 Maylene, Gen 5 Marshal, Gen 6 Korina, Gen 7 Hala, Gen 8 Bea
Water, Ice, Ghost, Psychic, are all tied for second place with presence in 7 gens

Extra point for psychic being awful in Alola: dark coverage on many trainer pokemon. Dark weak pokemon really have a rough time there. My poor Decidueye died so many times.

When I first beat Shield, I used Drednaw as my Water-type and Dynamaxed it to Max Rockfall Leon’s Charizard. I felt like an idiot when Drednaw got OHKO’d and realized I just had to stall out the Dynamax turns before it got another chance.

I thought bug was going to be the worst in kalos since there was literally only one new bug type line and there were only a few good ones available and don't have the best against the type specialists. For unova, I feel like psychics still are the worst.

From what I could gather, psychic is alright in SM but fails hard un USUM.
Hmmm maybe having a team that was half psychic in Ultra Sun might have inflated the difficulty... that would explain a lot.

Honestly probably the best Galar rock type is Coalossal, only because it fills out your fire type needs.
