Umm, actually, from what I understood (not an expert) djinn is an umbrella term for supernatural beings with free will(as opposed to angels and demon) and akin to fey and yokai. (Technically, ghouls are djnn)
While they can appear to grant wishes to our eyes, it's only something we're unable to perceive(like wishing for wealth, the djinni will be grateful enough to give his own wealth from his dimension).
There's also a story where someone tossed something without thinking and a djinni appeared and told the man that he killed his son and he now has a certain amount of time before he dies. (In the end three merchants make a deal for one-third of the man's life in exchange for a story the djinni liked and he did)

Well actually, the Genie of Aladdin's lamp is a type of spiritual being akin to a demon. These Djinn can't be killed but can be banished from our plane. They can also be bound in some type of container or object (in this case a lamp). If the Genie's spirit could be separated from his incorporeal body (making him a ghost) then he wouldn't have been bound to the lamp in the first place.

Right, so the first key philosophical question is "Do genies have souls?" Because if yes, then they most likely can be killed. If no, then they are most likely immortal and may or may not be able to be destroyed (depending on whether or not destruction is allowed for an immortal creature) or banished, assuming there is a separate realm aside from where souls would go. Immortality could also be a function of binding to a physical object or place, in which case if the binding can be broken, then the genie would cease to be immortal.
There is also the question of whether or not a genie is functionally a separate species from humans. There is the possibility that a genie could have been a human whose soul became a genie.
I hesitate to use the words soul and spirit and ghost without differentiation, because of the general connotations that at least western culture has culturally assigned to them. A soul usually refers to the essence of a human or mortal that will move on to an afterlife. A ghost has a negative connotation, having refused or being unable to move on, and its continued existence is unpleasant either for it and also possibly for the mortals around it. A spirit has a looser connotation that is generally more neutral and could refer to a ghost, a soul, an essence of nature, a demigod, or other noncorporeal or semicorporeal being.
It also all depends on whether we're talking about a specific real mythology or a specific fictional setting or both or neither. There are a lot of parameters to define.

Yes! A genie could be a ghost if ghosts exist and any living being can turn into one. Genies are people from another realm, but are not human. The only reasons why the grant wishes are as thanks for something or if they are bound to something - forced to do what their master orders.

Idk how it works in Aladdin but technically Genie is the English word for spirits in Islamic mythology called Djinn which vary wildly in their abilities and whether or not they can be killed and stuff. So anything can be anything, all answers are technically correct

Um actually: Genies can be killed in the universe of Aladdin if still bound to their lamp. That's how they defeat Jafar in the second movie. He definitely dies, because he appears as a soul in the underworld in the crossover episode of the Hercules and Aladdin TV shows.
