Saw it last night in Melbourne with the family (three teenagers). O my goodness, I was emotional when the overture started. The two leads were outstanding, hitting and holding notes that are beyond the range. It was a fresh production and staged so well; also very humble for the main performers to take their bows at the end in one long line, rather than coming out one by one. A truly transforming experience! 🙏✝

Heard the show is great and a very tight band - Gordon on drums and Nick on trumpet.

OMG. Saw original. This was ear shatteringly loud. No scenery to speak of. I was tortured by the noise. Left at the halfway mark.

This show has NOTHING to do with Jesus Christ who is our *CREATOR & JUDGE* ▶▶▶▶▶▶ John 3:36. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Great Jesus and Judas but horrendous show. The story was all lost. No emotion or passion from the direction. The choreography astoundingly bad. Completely lost the whole meaning behind the show. Why microphones on stage, why Jesus playing the guitar in the most powerful song in the show. The set not fluid at all. The props were not at all relevant.
Whoever directed and choreographed this show did a huge disservice to the talent, voices and production that could’ve been fabulous! The 1992 version was so much better and still wasn’t traditional. We heard the emotion and saw it in the costumes, direction, choreography and design.
Do not see it if you know anything about musical theatre. I have seen 100 times better amateur productions of it.
I think it will go down as the worst professional show I have seen.
I have performed, directed, produced and watched many shows in my lifetime and something was completely missed here. I could say much more but the only thing that was right was Judas and Jesus’s voices.
And the lashing scene… glitter???? Honestly! This was a two year olds vision
Sorry
