This gas-turbine engine has insane power

You won't believe just how much power the turbo-prop engine in this huge, yet-to-be-flown RC plane produces. Filmed at the Tokoroa Airfield (NZTO) in New Zealand.

Flight videos of this model will hopefully be available at some time in the future.

I am an airplane mechanic specialized in engines. I am amazed every time i see those tiny little masterpieces of engineering.

I've waited YEARS to see an RC turboprop plane. This looks so cool!

This gearbox is designed based on millions of tiny hammers beating the equipment into and back out of shape.

When the prop starts to rotate there is an obvious noise of some type of interference, then during throttle-up the spinner can be seen moving around.

Drool!!!!That spinner assembly was flexing like a fishin' rod catchin a big ol cat fish. I bet she cost a fortune.

I heard some really dry and poorly meshed gears sounds...

These blokes are crazy, working without ear, eye or shrapnel protection

That is a awesome little turbine. Would like to know the speed it'll get this model going. Continued success.

Other than the baldy twins butt shots, that was a cool video! I bet that puppy cost a pretty penny.

You bastard. You had my hopes all up thinking I was gonna see somebody pickup a half lifetime supply of toothpicks

Very cool stuff, sure wish it was in my budget, but get the feeling that guys radio cost more then my whole fleet (not unsizeable), but my "big plane" runs a 35cc twin two stroke gas motor (petrol in New Zealand parlance) under Taranis/CRSF control. I've got no doubt that plane's prop costs more then my motor, and possibly the whole plane. I'm not sure it would even be fun to fly something that nice, I'd be afraid to 'just fly' it, with ground avoidance being the ONLY thing on my mind.
Fun to watch though, thanks for bringing us the high end stuff, I wouldn't even get to see it if not for your great coverage,

1:00 shows what people in the 80's were freaking out about "Turbo mode" in the 80's... The RPM's are STILL incredible!!!

A miniaturized Republic XF-84H Thunderscreech. Noice!

We pilots have a saying "RC pilots are people who walk into a brothel and pay more for just watching then they would for actually doing it" 😅😅😅

That short prop design reminds me about xf-84h
