To some extent, the feeling learning about this reminds me of finding out that Christopher Reeve had been thrown from a horse and was paralyzed. Superman was paralyzed. It's upsetting just in general that it happens to anyone, but it puts a particular emphasis on the fragility of the human body and the human condition, that these supermen could be struck down so horribly after being the epitome of what we look to as symbols of strength and courage, even if they are merely playing roles. This story just gets progressively worse, and will yet still.

Bruce Willis is a legend who leaves behind a huge legacy. On top of that, he seems to have known where his future was headed, and worked hard so he wouldn't be a financial burden on them, and that they'd be secure without him.

My grandad got dementia as soon as he turned 80. Even though he was still breathing he was still basically gone. That one year trying to take care of him was a living hell. Me and my grandmother had to endure a lot of pain. It’s sad to say it only goes down from here for Bruce Willis. I hope maybe one day someone finds a cure for this. Because you never know when it may get you.

I feel for him and his family. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 51 and lost the ability to communicate shortly after before she lost her battle at 55. It's hard to go through.

I'm glad John you've explained it like you did. I often feel almost fake and/or dishonest when I mourn a celebrity's passing, or tragedy. I felt a tremendous sense of lost for example when Chadwick Boseman passed away. I still do in fact. And, I haven't spent too much time with him per say in front of a screen. I gguess that's a credit to the impression he made on me despite the limited time he gave me/us. I'm old enough to have watched Bruce Willis from MoonNight days up to Loop and, more. And, my brain (without me telling him to do so) feels sad to hear of his condition. I'm consoled a bit at least that he has people around him to take care of him.

The Unbreakable trilogy is the bomb. I’m thankful for that.

Bruce Willis is a legend and it's very sad news but he has given us some of the best movies and roles in film, which will never fade. I wish him well.

I’ll admit it to anyone, anytime - one of my FAVORITE guilty pleasure films is ‘Hudson Hawk’. It’s lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek, and never takes itself seriously. I’m saddened for Bruce Willis and his family.

Sad news...but shot out to his family and for all the joy Willis has given us over the years. "Water is wet. The sky is blue. People have secrets, and who gives a f'ck." The Last Boy Scout 1991' Bruce Willis most underrated role

2:00 I don't think it's irrational at all to feel sad when celebrities have illnesses or pass on. There's this weird belief that it's only "okay" to mourn when someone who is legally related to you dies. The fact is, a lot of us have family members who wouldn't give us the time of day, couldn't pick us out of a lineup, or have treated us terribly. These stories and works of art were part of our lives and hence, our support systems throughout childhood. And the actors who made themselves vulnerable and emotionally available were part of what made those stories so good. In that way, they really did share a part of themselves.

Talking about Bruce Willis cameos, his few short episodes in Friends are some of the best of the series. Him pumping himself up, in front of the mirror, and Ross catching him, is comedy gold!

This news certainly broke my heart. The original Diehard trilogy is one of my all time favorite trilogies with Diehard being one of my favorite action movies of all time. Bruce is an icon and a legend in the acting business. Just hope he can spend as much time with his family as possible.

Absolutely gutted for Bruce Willis. He was the Everyman action hero, the man we all looked up to as an ordinary guy put in extraordinary situations. I hope he spends his retirement in peace and knows how loved he is.
