You can see how hard this is on her. I hope she's getting help because being a caretaker is extremely difficult. Also realizing your marriage is going to slowly end is beyond heartbreaking.

My mother died of Dementia!
I'd drive everyday to feed her supper at a nursing home. I'm an only child so I had no help. I would wheel my mom into a private dining room. All her food was pureed. I'd taste everything and add butter or salt to everything as needed. It took 2 hrs to feed her. People with dementia don't remember how to chew, swallow, if they ate, or are they full. I was there from 5:30 to 9:00 everyday. On Saturdays and Sundays I fed her all 3 meals. I combed her, had all her clothes matching, nice shoes, socks, make-up, and nail polish. She was the most beautiful lady in the entire nursing home. She shared a room with another woman. I hung pictures, art, bouquet of flowers next to her bed. I made sure it was like her home. My mom no longer spoke or walked but I'd say to her, "Mom blink if you love me?" She would blink "Over And Over" again! I sure miss her. It was so difficult for me but to have her back I'd do this forever. I didn't want her to go to bed hungry! No one had the patience I had to feed her. My dad died of esophageal cancer. Dementia is a deadlier disease because he could speak and ask for pain meds. My mom was "Existing But Not Living!"

I like this woman. I truly do. I think she truly loves her husband, wants what is best for him and God Bless her for allowing Demi and his girls to love their dad and help with him. This woman is special.
