Master Bedroom was a DUNGEON!

Hello! Ok, I must admit, I was a bit discouraged with my old Greek house renovation project and feeling somewhat upside down until I rummaged through old photos and remembered just how far I have come. I suppose it is my nature to do very well in a crisis but then to lose my courage after the worst is over. But alas, the worst is over and this week I want to share with you the amazing progress that has been made as well as talk about summer plans. This is one the few channels I subscribe to. I look forward to the progress made each episode on your house. As an electrician, I find the construction methods used in Greece to be very interesting, vastly different from house building here in the US.
I imagine you have pretty thick skin, Marco seems pretty salty but he is obviously an accomplished builder. Was it hard to get him on board with your vision?

I speak english. I have a degree, but not much experience or skills. Would they want me in Greece? What could I do or how would I make a living? I'm actually full of questions about leaving the US and moving somewhere else. I don't enjoy the commercialization of everything, the fast pace of everything and lack of quality and pride in people's work. Healthcare options aren't that great in my area. I rarely get to see the doctor when I'm actually sick. Constantly have to use urgent care facilities. I love art, culture and historical traditions and I see that lacking and going away in the USA. I always say things are literally crumbling in the US and it's not a pretty sight.

wow there's lots of progression with your old/new house! Well done you are an inspiration. I was originally inspired by your oak business because I garden organically and most of what I grow is edible so when I found your early videos about all you do with oak my mind was blown! I come and go to Greece every year I love it and have often thought I would like to live there, but to be honest the summer heat in July & August is too much for me now so I tend to visit in April, May sometimes June, September & the end of October into November. In extreme heat how do you stay cool and manage your business and the building of the house? Do you run all aspects of your business yourself or do you employ others to help? With two properties will you be renting out any in the foreseeable future?

How did you handle the language challenge when dealing with professional matters there? I'm Greek-American and thinking of retiring there and its a challenge to understand the tax and legal terminology there. Many of them dont have the patience to explain everything in English or maybe the ability. I am thinking of hiring a translator or just seeking out offices that offer services in English to make it less stressful
