I used the same kit! Code on my area specified an 18" lift in my shop (garage) to keep the stove away from fumes that float on the floor.

Good looking install! Any ideas on if I wanted to install this stone on the bottom 2 feet of a metal building (horizontal corrugated)?

I personally wouldn’t have left the stone off where you did the heat shield thing. Yeah I get it’s not necessarily and in theory will never be seen but it would still annoy me personally for some odd weird OCD reason. Looks wonderful though!

I wonder how expensive that was for the job? Looks nice.

I just used Evolve Stone on my "fake" fireplace. I built a chimney inside with weathered barn wood on the top that is behind the TV and for the bottom half of the wall I used Evolve for the hearth for my electric fireplace. It looks great! I work for ABC Supply and we carry this product so I get a generous discount on it so I bought 2 boxes of the Morning Aspen. Such a great product. Yours looks great!

Wow man would have never known. Looked for all kinds of stone product, and nothing like that ever came up or was mentioned. Was just looking for something simple for the camp but this looks great for my sons house too! Beats mixing mud. Subscribed and liked!

I just called the company Evolve, and they said that it is still considered combustible material. So as long as the stove is the proper distance from the stone (combustible material) then this is cool.

If using fire rated materials, why would you need the additional heat shield? Are the temps just that high or just extra protection? Semper Fi!!!

Nice job and the video is well done too.
You just used a finish nailer?
Did you have a any issues splitting the stone?

Do you have the cement board screwed to the metal studs? Or did you screw it to the wood that you mounted between the studs?

Rear heatshield must be 20" higher than the top surface of the stove and 20" wider than the stove on both sides. for this uncertified woodstove installation read NFPA211 section 12.6.1 for the proper information on yur shielding

Could you have used construction glue instead of nails?

I have a wood stove and we’ve always had a huge tile wall behind it. No problems. Wanting to update with this, do you think it’s safe to put on over the tile?

hi thank you for the great videos on the Fireplace install and everything it entails. What thickness hardie board you recommend. I purchased the 1/4. I'm following a lot of what you did.

That makes a nice-looking wall. Thanks for the how to video. Can this be installed over MDF or plywood?

thank you for the video. Where did you get the heat shield?

How do you finish out the exposed edge/side profile? With some having the rough texture and others having s smooth cut I'm curious how you trimmed it out. Are cut pieces noticable in the pattern as they have a smooth edge against the next piece's rough edge?
