In round 1 of their Calculus race, Silencer and Indigo race to see who can find the relative maximum of a function the fastest. They take the derivative, factor the derivative, and then draws the sign chart for that derivative. The rule for relative maximum is f has a relative max when f' goes from positive to negative.

Just use Vietas formula and you can do everything in your head. Way faster than doing it on paper, if the goal is getting the results the fastest (obviously not applicable for test taking).
