Teacher here... I've taken too many phones while teaching and yes they are wasting time. Snapchat, Instagram, whatever... like are you kidding me?

I'm an engineer and the lack of young people coming into the industry is borderline scary. I'm 30 and don't know any good engineers younger than me. It's been good for me because supply and demand means my wage has nearly doubled in the last few years. But I don't see any young people with any kind of work ethic

Grade inflation is real. They curve EVERYTHING in college. My major was econ and for my statistics and econometrics classes a "C" was anywhere from 30 to 50%.

We have a no-cell phone policy in my school. Admin does not follow the policy or provide support for it. My art classroom rule is a phone camera can be used to photograph artwork. Students need to ask permission and they always do. I rarely have to take student phones. This may not work in other classrooms, but it does in mine by extending a privilege to my students.

Look as a gen z who had good grades and worked hard in class. Class is boring thry twach everyone the same even if it doesn't work for everyone. We learn that grades dont really matter unless you want to get into a very good school u hust have to maintain a c in most classes to get into a local college. College now a days dont guarantee a good job so going to a better college for a simple degree isnt going to boost ur chances unless its something like ucla or a big reputable university.
