If you encounter a bear, never be afraid, and definitely don’t run. Running will trigger its hunting instincts, and you absolutely can’t outrun it. What you should do is stand up, stare at it with a fierce look, raise your hands to make yourself look bigger, and roar at it. This way, even if you die, you'll do so with more dignity.
