so long as you're find with tethered, you can use an hdmi cable. Also, with wireless, I'm pretty sure moonlight is a good option, but given I'm not exactly used to moonlight, I can't say for sure

I can load cemu in desktop mode and load my game but the steam game pad buttons don’t work in desktop mode and my right thumb stick controls the mouse pointer. How do I use game pad controls in desktop mode in cemu?

im trying to figure out how to play on the steamdeck as a pro controller. because both twilight princess and wind waker hd tell me to connect a pro controller. but if im playing mobile then parts of the ui and item select system will not be available to me in gamepad mode. how do i trick the game into thinking the steam deck itself is a pro controller?

Is there any way to do this on the same system? i.e. hook up the steam deck to an external monitor, run the game on the monitor while using the deck screen as the gamepad

If you have a usb-c hub with a hdmi input, you can plug it in and in settings just set up your steam deck as your 2nd monitor. In CEMU go to "options" and lick on separate GamePad view, this should create another screen, drag it into your steam deck screen and the main screen into the monitor screen. Play a game and when you are given an option to play on a wii u gamepad, the 2nd screen (steam deck) should have all the menus of the wii U gamepad while the main monitor displays the game. Its not ideal because it requires a lot of manual work before starting each game, but it worked for me.

I could do this the other way around where I use a tablet or even the Steam Deck as a monitor just like the Wii U does, but then it'd be hard to get the controller part working that way hmm... Another way is Steam Remote Play, but then it shares the screen rather than getting the gamepad screen. I wonder if there's a better way to do this natively with the Steam Deck. Doesn't it support outputting video over USB-C to HDMI?

Can you tell me your controller settings? I'm trying to play Splatoon through EmulationStation and can only get the gyro to move left or right, I can't get it to aim upwards. How do you do that?
