Interesting idea! I’ve been drinking Trader Joe’s instant when backpacking & I brew in a percolator when car or trailer camping. I bet the serious coffee aficionados will be spreading this on toast like Vegemite…

Great hat, too. I recently got a green Tilley LTM6 & love it!

A very interesting sounding product and I can see how this type of coffee option would be of much value to many people. For me personally though, the process of making coffee or the coffee making ritual is part of the appeal of coffee in the first place. I enjoy the process enough that I grind my beans by hand on location just before brewing. I choose the particular coffee beans that I am using, based on flavor that I enjoy. So it would be hard for me to use a product like this but I do see the potential appeal for many coffee drinkers. ☕☕ As always, great product review video.

What a unique idea this is. I do take my coffee black with one sugar so this would be a decent option for me. I also wouldn't have to take my pour over device, filter, coffee and sugar so would save me a few items that I carry into the woods with me. Looks like No Normal Coffee has a pretty neat product there Mark. Thank you for sharing.

I ordered some of these tubes but I'm mostly interested in using it in baking to add coffee taste to certain desserts, don't think I would replace my AeroPress, it's actually 3 tubes and get the fourth one free.

Excellent review.
This might be the best instant coffee idea I've seen. If the company offers a non sweetened dark road they'll take over the instant coffee world.

Two words I would have never thought would go together. Coffee Paste. Interesting product. Great video thanks.

I’d definitely be willing to give this a try. As for a coffee I always take with me. Give cafe bustelo instant a try if you haven’t already. It’s the only instant I find palatable at all. They sell it it single serve packets online. But back to this product, it seems very versatile with a lot of ways to enjoy it. I’m definitely going to try a tube. Thanks for sharing Mark! It’s always a pleasure to stop by your channel and see you enjoying the wilderness.

I agree....it is a personal ritual, to make a good cuppa koffee. lol
This coffee reminds me of NASA astronaut tube coffee...LOL
In emergency love my 3 in 1 powdered coffee in the field.

Questions :
1) how will it do in storage ? (ex: a Bug out bag for a year/ prepper pantry for a year ?)
2) How will it do in a hot environment (desert area?)
3) does the flavor diminish after a timeperiod ?

Thank you for the review, Mark. It's an interesting idea, but so much more expensive than regular instant coffee, including varieties with microground beans in individual serving tubes. You might want to compare this with some of those varieties. They have the benefit of no added sugar.

HI Mark. I can imagine that if a company made an instant coffee that nearly replicated fresh brewed at a reasonable price point they'd have struck gold. As a former fussy coffee drinker, there's nothing like a good strong brew of fresh coffee. I'm sure this has it's place and time, however, much like jarred garlic!

Thank you for the review, Sir.
However, carrying crystallized instant coffees in a zip lock bag or a small container would be lighter.
And, carrying beans, a grinder, a coffee press or percolator, etc., would be heavier.
The cost might be an issue, as well as access to it.
It all depends on up to what level you take your coffee to.
I do not drink coffee, most times, for the flavor....I drink it for the caffeine.
I can also add instant coffee to my protein shakes, regardless of flavor of protein powder or shake, to change the flavor, and add a spark of energy from the caffeine.
Thank you for the review of this product.
Keep up the great work !!!

I would definitely like to try it but would have to wait until they have a Canadian supplier. I wouldn't think of buying a bunch of anything to get free shipping unless I have tasted it and enjoyed it. Very interesting though, would love to see one with the beet sugar and some sort of natural creamer or even the creamer in a separate tube! I really like the idea of tubed products for camping, wish a lot of products came packaged that way as long as the tube can be recycled. :) Thanks for sharing Mark! :) :)

Have you tried the "hybrid" instant blends (ones with beans ground into them) such as Kenco Millicano, Nescafe Azera, Costa Premium, etc.? Nowhere near as nice as fresh, but much better than standard freeze-dried instant.

Mark, you always review the coolest products! Have you ever tried the Starbucks Via instant pouches? They are my favorites (although I don't like Starbucks in general). Be interesting if you compared the two as many folks have tried the Via instant.

G'day Mark, well thats different. A good idea if you're out and about without anything more substantial.
With ya though; unsweatened black for me ; )
I reckon a different container would be better. i.e. crushproof for pack/bag carry.
Also, I wonder what the shelf life is opened and unopened ?
Cheers Duke.

I wonder if this is made in the same way as traditional Korean/ Japanese coffee paste... You basically puree white beans ( typically cannelloni or butter beans) and mix it with either coffee extract or instant coffee.
