I live in Florida and I am having a York split system or side discharge they are calling it, put in next week. I hope I made the right decision. I loved the 10 year labor, parts warranty and hopefully can get the tax credit.

I have a Daikin mini split ductless unit, 1 1/2 years old. Coil developed a hole in the loop, lost all Freon and had to replace the coil under warranty but I am being charged for 6.5 gallons Freon even though the system failed on its own. Why should I have to pay for a unit failure that I was not responsible for?

Looking at the Pacific Asian situation I am thinking York for USA because of China Taiwan war time scenario. I am not clear on access to parts from Daikin on current support. thank you for narrowing things down.

I was told by the manufacturer that the Daikan and Goodman packaged heat pumps were essentially the same units with the only differences being the cabinet color and badge name. However, it appears Daikan has a better warranty. I was considering Rheem and Train, but the Daikan 6-Year replacement warranty is pretty appealing. From the negative reviews and comments, I was steering clear of Goodman but read quality has improved since Daikan bought acquired their company. HVAC Installers being equal, any opinions on Daikan, Rheem, and Trane package heat pumps? Thanks!

ICP has a replacement warranty for their higher end units and carrier doesn’t from what I understand even though carrier owns them

wow I'm nervous. getting my AC replaced and its down to Trane XR13 13 SEER 4TTTR3048 ($1, 500 savings) vs the York 17 SEER split system R410A. Or Trane XR16 for +$200 over York. Thoughts?

Great interesting and educational for a lot of people who don't know what to look for and to expect so that I know what questions to ask I don't understand about the mobile home systems that does not really cater to those types of of systems my Coleman with electric heat coils on the inside air outside don't know it for sure but I read that's how Coleman got it's start working with mobile home units thanks for all work you put into this comparison.

Heil has 1, 3 or 5 or 10 year ' No Hassle' that includes large item replacement on their ION systems. Does that include labor to replace the large item replacement. It would be a big hassle if the large item replacement comes with a large labor bill...

For all the talk of Daikin's unit replacement warranty, there doesn't seem to be any documentation for it. I see no mention of what triggers it (you mention a compressor failure) nor what a compressor failure actually means. In theory anything can be fixed by their part replacement warranty, so why/when does the unit replacement kick in? Did anyone find any official documentation on this?

once you have leaks on coils you only get one year warranty after replacements and goodman has mre leaks than enyone else

Josh I'm about to get either the Carrier 18 or 16 seer variable speed heat pump with the communicating variable speed air handler. I'm just torn if I wanna spend the extra $1000 + for the 18 seer when it's the variable speed 5 stages compressor coupled with same kind of air handler that's most important. What do you think? Most appreciative!
