I prefer the non-microchannel York systems as those hold up well. The microchannel systems have had frequent coil leaks. Microchannel isn’t always bad, but York has had issues with it. My grandma’s York Stellar lasted thirty years before being replaced. Those Stellar units were the best!! Same with the “Tombstone” Borgs and Warner systems.

We are having a York system installed today. It includes a 2.5 ton As Condenser YC2E30B21S, A TC2E 2.5 ton + TM8Y 80% 80, 000BTU Furnace, Upflow/Downflow 2.5 ton Mod# XAFB30CXXN1, a Honeywell F-100 Air Cleaner. Also includes a 10 year parts 5 year labor warranty. Our home is approx 2200sq. Do you think this is adequate as our old system is over 41 yrs old:) And out utility PECO offered a google Next Thermostat as $16 after rebates. Thanks in advance.

Sir good eve I have a problem with York undercieling type ac...it is working for about 30 mins and then it turns off and the display shows blinking together the operation light...the timer light and the fan/def light

I personally gave up on York. I even went to their factory for a tour. But their ACs just fail, coil restrictions, dead compressors. And getting replacement parts is a nightmare. They use source 1. At least here in Florida is one of the worst units
