Everyone Can Make 3D Animations Easily Now! [Monster Mash]

This way of 3D model animation may be the start of a new 3D animation study. I was thinking something like studying character motions without requiring the knowledge of modeling or rigging can be really beneficial for people to learn fluent motions in art, and can be developed into a really helpful tool.

I welcome and fear the memes that will spawn from this.

Ok no joke.
That "animating without Rig" is really interesting...

They can sell that on a separated way...

Tbh tho animation is so much more than moving some points and adding physic. But the approach of automatic rigging and easier sculpting will indeed spare so much time. I'm excited to see what will happen to this pinpointing way of animating!

This is fucking wild dude. I grew up in the 90's and early 00's making skins and 3d art and having to use Maya, 3DSMax, Milkshape, C4d, and Photoshop just to get a piece of art completed or a skin into a mod. Making something as simple as a pistol to the standard that was held at a forum like Clan of the Dead Goat (anyone remember them?) could take 40 man hours or so. This is a simplification of the process i truly never conceived as being possible.

That did not sound well

So, this is just a slightly worse version of that 3D modeling scene in Big Hero 6 where Hiro models an outline and then auto-extrudes perfect geometry?

Legit, this looks like it’ll help immensely in character modeling

Just tried this out, its amazingly simple to use and really good at teaching beginners some basic knowledge about animation. This would be great in schools.

Animating the mesh seems to make more sense than animating with rigging. If an AI can look at a volume/form and infer how the "skin(mesh)" of the thing will deform as it moves, you don't need 'bones'. I probably got that wrong somehow, but the idea is still fresh in my head. It'd be cool if, one day, the AI can look at meshes and infer how they would move and deform, but with accuracy and with more complex/layered meshes; it could synthesize movement for anything. Natural movement for characters/animals/etc, model interactions with environmental/particle meshes. Everyone would have access to animation; notably, the people interested in animation.
