this is a video you really appreciate once you start riding and practicing.
New riders (myself included) are desperate to find videos showing precise hand movements like this masterpiece.
Thanks again for listening your viewers!

"Slow me down for my comfort" is so critical. Not everyone has the same comfort level and on the streets, that personal comfort level is all that is important. I am out there to enjoy the ride. Why rush it? Now to add some tape with markings to my bike ;)

This hammered the last nail on the coffin of rev-matching for me. I can't rev-match without pulsing the front brake specifically under heavy braking and rapid downshifting. Whenever I forget to rev-match, it feels easier for the bike and for me but I was under the notion that I need to rev-match. Thanks for this one. Now, moving forward, I will only blip the throttle when I am clutchless downshifting but when approaching the corner under braking, "trail clutch" it is. More power Fast Eddie.

This is one of your best videos you have uploaded. It is easy to understand and detailed, illustrating how to trail brake with varying speeds and of course with downshifting as an additional option. Yes, I agree with you. No need to rev match if easing out the clutch lever is in coordination with the rolling on the throttle and trailing off the front break.

What more explanation can a hell bent tutor do to help his students learn, this! Greg, excellent tutorship.

I'm old; how old? I'm so old that my first motorcycle had a coal-fired motor. This is easily the most concise tutorial on a riding topic that I have ever seen. Be proud of the precise knowledge that you're sharing and be proud that it will aid others. Well done!

Very Greg, you’re the best brother, I been riding for 23 yrs, and I can’t do half the stuff you do brother. You’re a Godsend to the bike community.

That’s the best explanation of trail braking I have seen on YouTube, thanks mate, appreciate your work.

Good to hear what you said about rev matching. I’ve personally never used it and my current bike has a slipper clutch so if I’m a bit off on my clutch techniques while downshifting it’s a lot more forgiving.

Your videos have save my bacon! I was riding down from Palomar Mountain on S7 to Lake Henshaw. Towards the bottom, I was rounding a blind corner. In lane position 2, was one of those HUGE’ass pine cones! Swerved, and missed it! Trail breaking, throttle control, swerving and breaking in a corner. 👊🤘

You don't know how much I love your work, and this is the video that I needed to watch to gain more confidence in the corners. Thanks a lot. I always recommend your videos to everyone who likes to ride. I really admire your dedication to teach.

I had asked you about rev matching while braking, you've thoroughly answered my question, and explained it in a complete and easy to understand way, like no one has before, thanks!

Nice video, as always !
Good to see that all the hype with trail braking is definitely evolving from Mandatory to Use it when you need it, on all the good YouTube channels !
In fact, trail braking, SLPR and the Keith Code methods ALL require a proper evaluation of the turn in order to respect the friction circle.
On the track, trail braking will help you not to be passed on every corner entrance !

I had noticed my pi**-poor ability to maintain steady front brake while trying to blip the throttle for downshifting. I usually do it anyway, because I like the way it sounds on my V-twin SV650. But it's only for fun, not for "social work."
This video is a tremendous help. It clarifies a LOT.

We need more visual videos like these! Perfectly answers a lot of my questions and one i had asked you on another video that i just didn't know how to word my question 😂. Also the 1% front brake has been my go to ever since i made the mistake of hitting the rear brake that almost cause the bike to slide out on me luckily no cars and wide open road i was able to straighten up and come to a safe stop and go about my day.

My name is Juan and am new to your channel. I love the way you really explain everything real good on your motorcycle skills. I just brought my Honda 600RR for my first bike and am not a great rider yet but with all your videos I learned so so much how to ride. It’s winter time now we’re I live and I can’t ride but every day I make time after work to keep learning with your videos. I have my MFS course sometimes in March and hopefully I will pass. Thank you for all your help I know they are very knowledgeable. Thank you again

THIS IS THE BEST EXPLANATION OF TRAIL BRAKING EVERRRR

Thanks for this visual demonstration. I've been trying to get better using my front brake when trail braking. Seeing the timing of it all is going to help a lot in my practice sessions. I'm pretty much a slow to medium pace rider now-a-days and the rear brake works fine but it's nice to have the skills available when I miss read a corner and come in a bit hot and around those blind corners. I've never seen the point in rev matching, I've always done what you said, slowly feed the clutch out despite everyone telling me I had to rev match or I'd loose traction on the rear tire.
